bkc56 Report post Posted January 20, 2006 From the comments I heard, there were a good number of people that used the special day to explore places they would normally never dare go into (PK areas, Matic School, etc). It may have been frustrating to some, but I think many found it to be a nice change-of-pace.
The_Piper Report post Posted January 20, 2006 Well, i made manu level 36 that day, so it wasnt too bad Piper

Vanyel Report post Posted January 20, 2006 If they can't have enough patience to do that, fuck them. It's somehow right However would it be possible to modify the Tutorials such as in the Day of Peace it can give players other Quest to finish?
Placid Report post Posted January 20, 2006 I think an addition to negative days should be something like the following: - Each negative day has a small quest associated with it. - The reward would be the day being reset (or rerolled, so its radnomised and potentially another random day could happen) - Once the monster is killed, an announcement is made and the day is reset. (something like "Placid defeated the evil spirit blah blah blah" Of course, it doesn't have to be killing something. Go find a temporary item or take a specific amount of flower to a negative-day NPC (this would all be predefined). In my opinion, that can't be too hard to implement either
Vanyel Report post Posted January 20, 2006 "Placid defeated a Grue - the Scholar Day just have expired" Better start running I think, though, that there might be some ways of make random days not affect players - for each of them separately - quest would be interesting. Maybe even random quest generator - for example why not to use Joker. 1. Find Joker, get quest from him; 2. Finish quest; 3. Find Joker again, the day does not affect you anymore. Of course, give players the choice, maybe they prefer leather gloves than end of Day of Scholars.

Now imagine all those ebul pkers running across EL picking flowers Piper
Vanyel Report post Posted January 20, 2006 Wouldn't be that hard There's not flower types enough to stopped them to end this day:D
The_Piper Report post Posted January 20, 2006 Not type of flower... One single flower. Piper

Atlantis Report post Posted January 20, 2006 The only disadvantage I see is that not one newbie who starts the game will continue playing. Who is going to want to play a game where everyone says go kill rabbits and improve your fighting, and then you try to do it and 'No fighting!' Please tell me you're kidding?! Well, why would everyone tell a newbie to kill rabbits on a day of peace anyway?! And why can't those same people just explain that the game gods have an effect on the days and sometimes here are random events? I meant the Tutorial =) Maybe we could have special settings where when you join the game on that day, you can kill 10 beavers and rabbits, but then you can't anymore? I like the Joker idea and the idea of killing the evil spirit too.
WoodeH Report post Posted January 20, 2006 Well, i made manu level 36 that day, so it wasnt too bad Piper I made Summon Level 11. WOOOOOOOO GO ME!! I went to my bed And didn't have problems with peace day Lmao! I did teh same! o,O!
Sistema Report post Posted January 20, 2006 (edited) Why not have an Overall level restriction to ranom days? (Like those #Hint thingies) I mean it only affects Overall lvl 10+ The new comers wont really realise what scholars day or anything else is. Actually, I think this is a great idea! Why would someone that isn't a newbie do the tutorial quest anyways? And I mean, for experienced players, 6 hours wouldn't really hurt much. A new way to explore, I say. - Sistema. Fumble Report post Posted January 20, 2006 I have to say, that I really enjoyed catching the last couple hours of the day of Peace. I did exporing in many of the PK areas that I have never been to. It was definitely a good change of pace from the normal day. Not that this would happen, it may be good to have one EL day a month designated to this purpose. I think it would enhance the experience of newer players. Fumble
Arnieman Report post Posted January 20, 2006 I was still wondering - is there a way to make IP a "buffer" from all (or certain) random days, like Peace Day? I mean, this would give the newbies the chance to at least finish the Tutorial during the peace day, but could be abused quite easily by the fighters who can't find something else to do other than fight (however, imagine all them ebul PKers camping that deer, or a beaver... ) Or, have IP tavern sell the skins to people doing that quest, but only on Peace Day... Algorn Report post Posted January 20, 2006 (edited) my only complaint with peace day was the inability to heal wounded players(miners and harvers). how does one promote peace and the celebration of life when life is in need of mending? Sweettea Report post Posted January 20, 2006 I thought that was weird also. Couldnt remote heal at all. It was fun exploring for awhile and when i went to Grubani pen The monsters that came near just stoped in place and stayed there. i tried to out wait them to see if they would wander off but I got bored first I have screenies too! http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a269/DomaniSedai/EL/EL.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a269/Dom...ElPEaceday2.jpg

Gen_Axis Report post Posted January 21, 2006 Hmm, Peace day... what's the PROPER opposite of peace day ? A war day ! :> All maps PK And now something completely different (Monty P....cough) If random days are affects of gods, isn't it weird to be affected by them having godless ? From other side what the point of godless if it doesn't mean anything as role playing ?

ttlanhil Report post Posted January 21, 2006 If random days are affects of gods, isn't it weird to be affected by them having godless ? From other side what the point of godless if it doesn't mean anything as role playing ?read the "roleplay" descriptions... they have nothing to do with EL roleplay. so godless isn't an issue
Gen_Axis Report post Posted January 21, 2006 LOL, noone had anything agains first point in my previous post :-) So there should be war day :> And the second point... about gods... thanks for explanation. Now that only mean gods sux (as far as some people that invented some of those events like peace day, no drop/mix day etc .... which are spreading boredom through EL) :>
