Bad (or neutral) days

With recent addition of new positive days, it would be good to add some more bad/neutral days to even the chance.

Here are some that could bring interesting situations (all are magic related) ;)

 

Day of no magic.

Description:

Today the moon position is interfering with the magic channels of Draia.

Therefore it's not possible to cast any spells or use any magic device (rings).

 

Day of wild magic.

Description:

Experiments in Tarsengard magic school have caused an unfortunate side effect.

All spell invocations result in random spells being cast, possibly harming the caster.

 

Day of chaos.

Description:

Our scientists have traced a planar being traveling across Draia, causing interferences in planar travel.

Today all teleportation magic (spells and rings) end in random locations.

Not bad idea

but imho i don´t think EL needs days that would make players close the game

I think that these days could lead to interesting situations. Especially in PK :D

I think only the first one will cause some troubles for mixers and fighters, but others are fine for me.

Don't forget, that with every new special day introduced, be it either bad, good or neutral, the chances for all other special days to occur are lowered.

I haven't seen some special days in months.

I think we already have enough special days.

Well i think that depends on server side implementation ...

No idea if Radu said how it works, but if it's like:

1. roll the dice and decide if it's a special day

2. if it's a special day, roll a dice to decide whether it's a positive, negative or neutral day (does not need to be evenly distributed probability)

3. roll a dice to get the actual special day of the rolled type

Then the chance to get a certain good special day is always the same (of course it's changed when you add more positive days) ...

But this is of course just a guess :)

These would be fun/interesting the first time people see them, after that they will be annoying and obstruct people from doing what they want.

 

Bad days aren't a bad idea, these are too intrusive/extreme though ;/

We all would love to have great days all the time, even ordinary day can make some people sad nowadays - but this is really nice idea, I like it :icon13: Especially Day of no magic looks fine to suit the game well.

 

As for the chance to get a random special day, it was increased several times already, so it's possible it won't lower the chance to get another one.

 

And for annoying or most hated bad special days, we got now bad day removals which have pretty good use thanks to neno hunters :fire: (and some great manufacturers as well!)

Bad days aren't a bad idea, these are too intrusive/extreme though ;/

 

Nothing is more intrusive than acid rain ;)

I think they are okay.... it would suck balls though, if one occurred >.>

It would add balance to have negative days to balance (even if not in same numbers) positive ones.

 

There is already a Green Day to balance Day of Aleksei Stakhanov. (Harvesting).

 

Day of No Magic (w/o affecting teleport rings) would balance Day of Magic (Magic).

 

Day of Dark Ages (with engineering items not working as well) would balance Day of Alfred Noble (Engineering).

 

Day of No Call (w/summoning stones not working as well) would balance out new Day of Summoning (Summoning).

 

There are no specific Potioning, Tailoring, Alchemy or Crafting Days.

 

I hate bad days as well but too many good days can ruin game as well. I do not know how odds are calculated but if a skewed balance is desired then every time a bad day is used it should increase chances of opposite day and reverse as well.

Ditto, some really cool ideas.

 

Plus a day with 2x pot experience, eg Day of Hieronymus Bock
