LadyWolf Report post Posted August 27, 2005 I guess I can't really claim any religion atm. I am constantly searching for the "truth". My family on my mom's dad's side(great-great-great grandparents) came from wales and were druids. Her mom's mom's family were native american and catholic. So I guess im a heinz 57 variety. I have studied many religions, from christianity, to judaism,to muslim, to wicca. I am religious, but can't fall into the category of any of those listed to choose from. I guess I believe in a higher power that isn't encompassed by choosing a religion to follow.

Wytter Report post Posted August 28, 2005 I believe in what my heart tells me is true - that's the only place to find the answer to i.e. "Why are we here" that will help you living your life.

Wytter Report post Posted August 28, 2005 Fortunately it means that you can believe in what you want to, as long as it makes sense in your heart, my friend However, I think it's very important to realize that the only truth is inside you and what you feel, not in some book written and edited by humans. I believe that if there is a God, she would have putten what you should believe and the right answers in inside you.

Kendai Report post Posted August 31, 2005 Of course Christmas isn't mentioned in the Bible, lol. Christmas was actually a celebration "created" to substitute the pagan holidays and festivals. More than likely, Jesus was born in the spring.

More than likely, Jesus was born in the spring. 192169 As are many "Christian" holidays. I mean, Easter was actually a fertility festival to a goddess (Eshter, I think), and also isn't mentioned... ...except that little thing of it falling about the same time as the Jewish Passover, which IS specifically mentioned in the Bible, as is Pentacost ("fifty cost", another Jewish tradition), and the census of Augustus Caesar at about the time of the birth of Jesus. Do the dates being taken from a pagan ritual taint the entire celebration, or does only the meaning applied to the dates mean anything?

Hes not the one who gave the rapper 10 houses and let the guy die in africa. He did however give us free will. We are the ones responcable for whats happening today, what happened in the past. If he didnt give us free will.. made us all believe in him, made us all perfact.. no errors..no sins.. do you think this game would be here . j/k. but do you think we would have things like this? like casinos? lol.. No errors is one big error. I would hate to be equal to everybody else. so thats why we have free will thats why the rapper has 10 houses.. thats why some poor guy just died in some odd country. Its not good. but its better than the other option, and I think you will agree.. :miky:

The_Piper Report post Posted September 1, 2005 Do the dates being taken from a pagan ritual taint the entire celebration, or does only the meaning applied to the dates mean anything? 192351 As you said about easter, those dates are choosen to hinder ppl to celebrate their pagan rites. You cant celebrate Jul or hail saturn if youre celebrating christmas the same day, so it worked quite fine. But, at least here in Germany, we tricked them and the old gods are still alive: Monday = Montag = Moon day, the day of the goddess of the moon (lunae) Tuesday = Dienstag = Ziestag, the day of the war god Ziu Wednesday = Mittwoch = the middle of the week, well... Thursday = Donnerstag = Donar's day, you know him too by the name Thor Friday = Freitag = Freya's day, the goddess of love Piper

Kendai Report post Posted September 1, 2005 well that is what christains say, what about muslims? where is Allah in this picture? and other gods (wich i dont know but i know they are there ) ? 192570 According to my ideas about relgion, Allah, Yahweh, and other polytheistic gods in other religions too numerous to name here are really all just names for the same God. Different people see Him differently, as well they should be. It's the way we worship and the ideas we have about God that make each religion different. Just like one culture is not inferior to another just because it's different, I personally think that one religion is neither inferior nor superior to another. Each religion has its own valid points- otherwise why would people be willing to practice it?
Kala Report post Posted September 2, 2005 I have a problem with Christianity because of the people who call themselves Christians. Specifically, the Catholics and Protestants, who kill each other because they don't love Jesus the same way. Well that, and the fact that it's pushed on everybody who isn't Christian. I won't convert, so please stop trying. Although, those Jehova's Witnesses at my house the other day were kind of cute...
