I think it would be cool if the client parsed things like . . and such into raster graphs for chat, Kinda like the forums.

 

Maybe certain graphics files in url's could do it chat too?

 

Guess it could be abused though... If repeats could be excluded that may help?

Not too wise with all the graphic exploits about :/

It's really the same as coloured text in-game... It'd be fine if players were responsible. Which we know they, generally, aren't. So those of us who are sensible have to miss out.

As for exploits? No, that isn't an issue, it's not like you'd let the players choose their own icons, they'd have a set provided by EL if this were to happen.

I hate this idea. I've seen it working in Conquer Online. It gives a new meaning to spam.
