sorry dont know if this is a help me section or a bug section thing.

 

I am stuck and cant get into nordcarn from WS. gonna sit at the WS signpost to NC for now. I also couldnt get out of IP earlier but someone gave me a VOTD ring. I then got to WS via another ring, so it looks like i may not be able to do conventional map changes without rings, i dont know as i havent tried?

You updated and still have old maps? Check the other threads about updating maps.

A likely fix to this is to uninstall the game completely and then make a fresh installation.

And do NOT download ANY maps. Only use what comes with the official download/install.

AND make sure you are using the new official client that comes in that download as well.

Or are you using Linux and your client is confused about an el.ini hidden in .elc which points still to an old data directory?

All sorted. was using the new and official client, but had replaced the old maps back again, which i have now removed since learning these are illegal.

 

Fortunately, i had kept the ones i had replaced in a folder separate to the newly downloaded client folder, so i didnt need to reinstall the whole lot, just put the ones back as overwriting the old maps.

 

SORTED.
