Post Your Mature Ideas About The Harvesting

Recommended Posts

Hrm i think we needa do a lil cleaning on here and remove any off-topic posts "like this one"

Hey "Phuzion", when you "talk", do you curl the index and second "fingers" of each "hand" and make a "scratching motion" in the air whenever you use a "verb" or a "noun"?

I realise this is "off topic", but just for the sake of making your posts "easier to read", you should take a quick look at this.

Please remove this post too. It's "off topic".

This was a post your "mature" ideas about harvesting thread so here are my very mature ideas...speaking age wise anyway.

I as an adult approach most games as a small child does. Not in what i expect or what i want but as in "what is". That being said the game as is just got a bit of spice. Love it, hate it, or cling to the old ways, the changes are "what is" and it does add more adventure to the game. When i logged onto this game a couple of weeks ago i thought to myself what a staid and very safe lifestyle so many of these people live in what should/could and usually is a dangerous world. Here ,no run away monsters come to attack nothing bad happens to you unless you wish it so.

Good heavens how boring.

An adventure game with only "planned" adventure.

Each of you probably gets in a car daily or crosses a street and face far more risk of the unexpected than in the game previously, unless you chose the life of a fighter or pker. With the changes you now each must face choices and the unexpected, how much appeal does a game have without this? In my opinion in the long run, zero unless new things are added new challenges and new strategies forced upon the sometimes unwilling. Come on guys us old people are supposed to be set in our ways and lacking adaptability not this new generation. Buck up and figure it out, dont let an old lady be more adaptable than you youngins.

Ok, said my piece flame me or not i still am correct. Why do you play a game with no challenges except who can harvest longest macro best or amass the most gc? Why would anyone pay to play such a game?

BTW i have not chosen the fighter lifestyle and i have not let these changes deter me in harvesting the materials i must have...yes i do become annoyed when Muthah Nature zaps me for all my hp but i go back and devise new strategies...Will you?

...in a coal pit in the 60's/70's? F*cking high my friend. Mining in a cave is always dangerous, and i think this adds a realistic measure to harvesting.

Ok. Since im a Alchemist and a Manuer, ill post here with an event that happened just yesterday:

I was on my...800th bar of iron and i was just about to make 200 steel for 100 iron sheilds right. and i hit a teleport nexus =/. the newbie next o me ofcourse jumps my bag and when i come back hes handing out bars to his freinds to put in sotrage so he doesnt have to leave the bag and come back. now think about this, 100 * 400 is...yes 40k that i lost...because of the teleport nexus thing. its not an extremley big deal..its just really annoying to have to worry about hitting a tele nexus when ur harvesting legally. this noob ofcourse wont respond becuase why would he...he just got a 4k payoff for the day.

just saying the tele nexus wasnt such a great idea for the Already poor Manuer/alchers. maybe i am the only unlucky one. i dont know.

My 2 cents.

Ouch! but let me ask you this... WHY do you make bars when you KNOW you have the risk of Teleporting?

Ouch! but let me ask you this... WHY do you make bars when you KNOW you have the risk of Teleporting?

because he wants to make them ? because he needs them? because it's his profession in this game ?

that's what i been trying to say all the time. the teleporting kills off whole professions.

it can not stay. :huh::(

update...i got tele'd 7 times today already...in only 3 attempts to harvest the full cap ! :(

I dont think the teleporting even has slight purpose in the game context. Bees <-> Flowers (ok). Walls collapsing <-> caves (makes sense). Mother-nature <-> nurture (age-old debate)

But hitting a teleport nexus just doesnt seem valid, when there is nothing in those caves to suggest that they would exist....Perhaps if there was storyline behind this, it would seem a little more aparent?

If you get what i mean

simple, wild magic. basicly the use of magic have over time energized the fabric of the world so that at times magical energys can gather at spots and become triggerd when a living beings aura comes into contact with it :D

allso, i see the idea of dragging a bunch of items into the cave and then leaveing it on the ground so that you have more inventory available as exploiting a loophole in the system. bags with items should vanish from game even if someone is sitting on it and recently accessed its content when the 5 min limit is up. oh and if you leave something of value on a table or similar some sob may well come by and grab it if its of value. that how people are, and even more so when they cant be charged with stealing or wacked over the head for doing so.

rember, any bag left on the ground is free for all, no matter if you just got teleported out of there or something like that. yes it sucks to loose that stuff but its a simple way to avoid it happening, dont leave anything on the ground.

and how can someone be poor when they are able to make items that havea value of 100 gold a pop?

ok so this may be flameable but i cant just let that post stay as a argument against the current system without comeing with a counterargument...

Me: Because I don't like competitive games. If I wanted to get killed all the time, I would go play Quake or Unreal Tournament. If I wanted to go broke all the time, I would play Sim City. Now, I have all three of the games mentioned, all three original, paid for games. And I don't play them much.

Now tell me again, what's the problem in paying for a game that I actually play?

Read the sticky thread in offtopic. The one with the four kind of gamers. I'm an explorer/socialiser, according to those definitions. Now, what's left in this game for people like me if harvesting is for achievers? How do I get the gold coins I need to play the game?

So duran, what you're saying is that It's ok for us to be punished for doing something that we can do, that is legal to do, and that, in all common sense, makes perfect sense to do all because ............. its possible to do it?

This isn't a "Loophole" in the system. This is possible because it's realisitic! What is so unfair about it if you were to do this is your own home? Sitting down and working while you're working on somehthing else isn't some form of cheating! It's called Multi-Tasking! What's more, it's called Working Smart! Why do more work then is required to get the same gains?

I suppose by your reckoning, you would suppose Hiring Newbies to "Mule" for you is also taking advantage of the system since it's Taking advanage of inexperienced Players who don't understand the value of the Goods they Carry. After all, you could pay some just a few coins for hauling a load of Diamons. No real loss to you but you manage to Transport massive amount of Inventory is a very short period of time.

I failed to see the difference!

1) no chance to receive one-hit death-blow damages.

2) less chance to receive repeated events (put some kind of a maximum on events per char per hour *please*).

3) some way to dodge your bad event (ie show that the char is not macroing, and is in fact a real person sitting at the keyboard at the time of the event) - let us run from the bees; the rumbling of a cave-in; and give us a chance to turn down the "opportunity" to teleport *please*.

4) an equal chance to receive a good event (ie. offer of a gift) - same as you have to get a bad event.

This is maybe a better idea then a randomly teleporation a few step back! I like it!

and this:

4) an equal chance to receive a good event (ie. offer of a gift) - same as you have to get a bad event.

would only be fair!

Really - ppl who are manufacturers or alchemists have a great disadvantage now in the game.

Besides that I loved sitting in the mine, relaxing by harvesting and chatting with my friends ..

all gone now and this is sad - takes a great value out of the game IMO B)

These are all GREAT ideas that I back 100 percent. this should be the solution. don't make little riddles because they can be avoided somehow. this is the perfect idea. maybe make the wall colapse like :You see pebbles fall from the ceiling, and you hear a deep rumble: for the bees, maybe: you hear loud buzzing and see a be land on a flower:

Then we would be given some time to get the heck out of there :P
