For quests like 'kill 30 boars' i suggest messages like 'you killed 14 boars for ... 16 left.'

No no no no - Counters are there for a purpose use them.

You can even use floating messages for that! After each kill, you will see what number of kill is that, just use what's already in EL, no need to add the same thing in a slightly different manner.

Count the bones / meats you get, check your counter or just kill the mobs until you're finished. Imo it would be ennoying if there'd be message after every target you kill.

Would this improve things? Perhaps.

 

Would this be much effort to implement? Hard to tell. If you want to have more value to this than you would get from using the counters, then it would probably need to be from the server so that it can remind a person that may have forgotten they were doing that quest in the first place.

 

Could the counters work just as well? Maybe if you don't mind the effort to keep track of the counts and you actually remember you are doing the quest.
