  1. but wouldnt dailies be better concentrated on low levels (imo) means quicker catch up with decent/pros, if you limit their exp more. means a more competitive market and in combat skills better pk. Also same logic behind level 25 "being something to work towards" is the same as saying 110 a/d to be able to survive pk. Excludes alot of people. people not doing quests of any type is usually to do with it not being either immediately attractive, well constructed or of some other detterent. Less people do Minel quest than many of the other dailies, so their probably lies a detterent unique to it. Players must find fun combined with reward for quests, and since eng is targetted to be a difficult advanced skill, i imagine the quests are costly and probably time consuming, therefore the combination of factors makes it unattractive to a fair amount of your populance, but obviously some people will find it worthwile. So you look at resolving the problem by providing a difficulty that is enjoyable, quick enough to allow for other entertainment ingame and a decent return.

    I agree. Would make a nice novelty every so often, but would remove the point of caps really at lower levels, where the better gear/more hp/more eth/more EMU/more money factor nullifies the "field levelling" aspect of it completely. Armours can make you effectively 20 -30 levels more powerful at lower caps already.
  3. Yeah, thats quite annoying. Why i stopped subsidising them, i was just paying for alts to get in. Thing the last few real mains people were me, atomos, biker_boy, etc. and none of us were really new. Only other guys i recall who were genuinely new either bought gold, hit level 80, decided they had done everything and quit promtly, after doing about 5 invances in every range, or reaching us with leathers and quitting when they were eaten by many monsters. Too few creatures at the bottom cap levels... EDIT: Less exp, less reward. Why go and just burn resources. You do 3 and realise there is no varietry, get bored unless you get new people to do it with. No risk, no thrill Risk/Reward. The system most games are based off. ALL games that ARE WORTH PLAYING at least. Something EL has not learned to deal with though. Rostos = no risk/reward in pk. BroD gives nor R/R. Nothing gives R/R here. Because R/R needs balance, and people posting these suggestions dont think of balance, and often they are not implemented with balance because that takes ages and ages to do. But it keeps the players. Look at your steadily dropping numbers... look at the hours people are cutting from playing...look at how every newb quits straight away because its a grind with no end, no chance to get to the competetive level in before the phase of interest (which has dropped incredibly here) turns into a phase of boredom, skipping the phase of competitive/coop play when you should have got to mid/high range. People/Devs need to think more in R/R balancing to make things fair and fun, and not an unrelenting grind or a walk in a park. Varietry would also help. Dont take this rant personally Maxine, you and maybe 2-3 other mods i have always respected, thought were competent. But im just saying this because EL is slowly drifting away from the fun factor toward the sewage treatment plant.
  4. Maxine, it would be nice if i got the drops from the bosses i end up having to kill in that situation. Thing with 4060 is it ended up being 3 people requesting it, no newbie, just alts and myself. 4060 may have partially recovered from the low point when i left, but we dont have the numbers to do our old 12 man invances, with iron plate/augs as the most common armour, which was the best experience for doing them. As i see it, you need to get more newbies, keep them, and encourage them to try out various different pasttimes and events. I posted a massive list of suggestions here (which was shot down by radu, but reposted on other EL variants seemed popular O.o). So basically my secondary solution is: Make sure everything is tankable by mixer @ top cap or fighter @ mid cap in iron plate. (not talking tank builds) Reduce drop chance in map Reduce break chance in map allow toggling off/on exp at end. Personally, thats one thing i avoided in all my invances, but othes take as an incentive, Will drop lower w/o incentive Make designate bosses (Fero/Fluff/WT) drop everything else can just be non drop. Scale the invance. If players are interested in invances still, i could always come back and try again to encourage them...but i doubt the detrimental problems inrange have recovered enough in the last year.

  6. for low level ones revi thats what this topics about isnt it? getting people INTO it And yes, rostogols arent cost effective. armours to do it are decently expensive, but not expensive enough to warrant rostos. so you have that issue, which helps nobody. imo best way to sort out problems like this is drop rostos to $1, radu will sell more, more people can pk/invance/instance and if you keep the difficulty balanced he should not lose any money.
  7. umm... considering the first few invance ranges had a very small permanent population when i was last there, i think the issue stems from a completely different root. Just before i left, me and Maxine had managed to set up a very good way for them to learn invances, with her staying in demigod mode giving suggestions and help, me going around pratically helping them and offering to pay for some of their costs. This went to pot imo when it turned out the only people actually taking part were alts. Whole range went to pot. issue is with WT/Feros/fluffy in lower invances mean you need someone with good armour and already with rostos (who mostly levelled up after we ran out of newbies). We have a huge issue of it being too easy for the rich newb, but hard as hell for the average one. Instance wise, its too difficult at level 60-80. needs to be made a tad easy, and i would say add a mini training one, with low return and armour req for them to learn in, and figure out if they want to spend on armours/rostos to try the proper ones. but this stinks of the same old ideas and discussions i had a year ago which was aggressively put down. Core issue is mobs/armour and the expectations of newbies skills and money being set too high.

BruSu, if you want it to be done by the players themselves (instead of bought in Exp), then recycle code from tutorial NPC for mixing part, and have that done by these "Masters Of The <skill>" NPCs. That way you force them into doing it but with the negative issue of making sure its a sensible load for carrying there, which if disregarded would require hyper keys/mules/etc. Just since i agree with your idea. However, is there any option to limit allrounders on this? so they can have max of 3 of these per day, otherwise i see people just doing dailies and logging off mostly (if you put the harv, a/d, dung, and these quests in, it will probably take a fair amount of play time, and leave people with no time to do anything but dailies) Otherwise i like this idea. It goes very nice with my build xD
  9. i like saxums suggestion. You could do a hard cap that gradually rises after a certain time, so that low level have the oppurtunity to find them, and start on them, then allowing the casual fighter, and then if they cant take them, in case there is a mixture of mobs that makes it too tough for the target cap, it will gradually rise to a level where you they are cleared but give the oppurtunity to the lower levels properly. If it was implemented with an adjustable time between the caps changing, then you could make it rise with the invasions mobs. The programming of this probably isnt that attractive, but just an idea. summoning by over caps should be restricted to just when a low level player asks for it... there was no fun when these capped invasion were new, and by the time i found the reminents of a cap invasion, it had been cleared by people using WT stones while over cap. If you allow that summoning unconditionally, it removes the point of even having a cap.
  10. Always going to be an issue of higher levels attacking low level mobs in invasions if uncapped. The issue is players having the self control to leave them to the newbies, which sadly not everybody has. gradual wave invasions will always have this issue as people will wait for the higher levels and to be able to plunge into to first set of the more interesting mobs. But this is quite unavoidable as a lot of people play on alts, and when i last saw, about half or more of those killing lower level capped invasions were alts as well, because (at least when i was last truely active) we had a very low count of actually newbies to fight these. This is more of a social/player issue than inbuilt game one, and i dont know what the soloution is.

    I know your InfectioN, Infection I also know that you made the guild with them, and stayed throughout. I was just reffering to the driving force during the times, and i still respected the guild. Sorry if i worded it a bit badly Arent most of the members (at least from the first break up) in *KA* , with Acadia and maybe a few others to KatZ and just me to J&H. Hope you have fun here in EL , and like you i will help any ex [bC]ers, if yous can attract my attention (probably best via Kyndor of FeaR or Munk of {FD}) RIP Bad Company, who were ironically excellent company.

    Shame, was a great guild when i was a member. Under the command of ShoDoKaN and MidnightAngel, we thrived with great memories of what we got up to with such great members such as Kaddy, DrtySouth, DrtyCMunk, Ovi, TEMPZz and Acadia. I felt so at home till its first deathly stumble when ShoDoKaN got preoccupied in RL. When it revitalised under you, InfectioN and FrozenSolid ( of the disbanded EPiC guild), Its instance guild focus was not to my taste, nor did i enjoy myself quite so fulheartedly, but i did like to see the tag continuing. Such a shame. Let's hope it revival will occur shortly and triumphantly.

    When I talked to Learner about ants, there's a bug he wants to sort out in them so they don't get trapped when more than a few try to use a flag at the same time and get frozen (from what i understand). He's programming other game features, and has ants fairly far down the list. So i think he wants to leave it till he sorted them out. Maybe Forum PM him about it

    For a newbie its not stupidity, its those knowledgeable players taken advantage of those who are new. As for keeping many players... one scammer has killed a few guilds, one of which was a whole family who quit, several of my friends quit because of him and a few others i used to invance with. This was in the last few months, one guy. And all these points, i've seen people quit because of them, so dont kid yourself otherwise. All the old players have become oblivious of the issues of new players, no matter if they have alts in the lower levels or not. You have knowledge, they dont, you can avoid being screwed, they cant. Radu - i have a limit on quotes i can use, as i said at top of post, and that was the error i got when quoting your post. Its in order, each point being a quote, in the order you posted it.

    To radu, and points are replied to in order (limit on number of quotes i can use ) Scamming loses players, and other MMOs obviously you think that it doesnt lose enough players to be worth the effort to enforce. The low level quest are rather dull, and not always in places that they'll travel to. The low level armour breaking questor srpings to mind. We never asked for invasion from you, since all the ones you did where OP in our opinion. If we know we cant take invasion, why bother. Nenoricit, lenny, pear hunting, treasure hunting, badaran, instancing. Yeah teams are all and well, but you dont actually do much. i was aiming more at something similiar to pear hunting/neno that low levels could have a go at, as entertainment in its own right, or as part of a learning curve. you seemed to have missed my point. You expect us to tank in our invasions, i try to, but not many know. Similiar, if we try to help out by shooting mob in invasion a pr0 is tanking, and dont know about forced flee, we're ridiculed. Wow, that'll leave a great impression on them. pr0 in BD armour, FA, OS and Rdholam vs newbie in augs. yeah, that REALLY fair. yes, its vaguely easier to gain gc, but you need to expend ten fold for all the new additions, or to be worth the tile you stand on. Well, you have children players, often from parents playing. And they're more likely to stick with the game they grew up playing than the one they try on whim when their in the range you want. As for casual racism, ive seen it go passed ignored or dismissed with a half hearted, dont do that. It shouldn't be tolerated in the slightest. Did you notice i said there was nothing you could do? oh, yes, i did. I posted this since i just thought of adding most of th reasons for quitters. As for being on crack, i have never experimented or taken illegal substances, unlike yourself. I didnt say you were imcompetent nor an idiot, nor have i ever said that. I didnt agree with you in some matters, and i put out some ideas.Godsake, its not like i went "EL is S***" without any explanation. As for spending more on EL, not everybody is rich/nolifer. And i think some other people have posted some of my ideas, obviously not all, free standing and lacked such a reaction.

    It all depends on yourself too be honest. Some hate will, others love it. Alot say dont put phys higher than coord, but i actually prefer it, and its worked for me fine. My stats are 24/16/8/8/8/8 and its generally good for most things, if not excellent for anything.

    I maxed out my storage slots at level 50. so...yeah... more slots would be nice. Also, playing another game, they did give you a similiar thing to a perk for extra inventory space ( as their was no storage ), that could be bought up to twice and stack. That game has similiar population and it works fine on the whole. If you make the think off all the effects of the perk, and consider a number that excludes newbies, but allows higher levels that need the perk, but cant spend tonnes of pp, then it would work, but it would need to rely on careful implimentation, and tuning, so it doesnt become a tool for the elite, or something that EVERYBODY has. "EL's shop is for the most part non intrusive into the day to day mechanics of the game." well, look at too newbs development, one buying from shop, and other going completely from ingame earned items. You'll see it those make a significant difference. "i really think radu/roja have come up with a well balanced game shop compaired to other games i have seen." - well balanced shop, that charges same for EFEs and rostogol stones. Shop kind of needs repricing so that it actually lines up similiarly to ingame prices. Half the items from shop aren't bought since you can buy rostogol/haidir passes and buy 3-7 of the items for the same price ingame. as for why recent suggestions linger on $$$ earned? well, has more chance of being implemented, too keep game going since we have no newbs, shortening supply of low levels and some higher level players going to OL or the more popular MMOs for various reasons. EL population and game is showing signs typical of aging MMOs, the 'intrigue' stage long ago worn off, the 'passion' stage kind of died with pk and now we're running on fumes.

    And its the mixers that tend to notbuy from shop, thats why their mixers. Their making the money that you bought off shop. Personallly, i would love rostos to dip in price, as that is main reason why lower levels dont do anything thats fun. As soon as you offer an item that is membership only, or area, then you alienate the populance of the game that cannot afford to pay you. And you also have to make sure that areas and membership items are balanced so their not unfair on those who cant use/buy them, since they are not a member. And we haven't got balanced great swords, so excuse me for assuming a member only inclusion in the game would increase the inbalance in game. Iirc radu said gold buyers and sellers caused inflation...and this happens.

    30~ days per month, so every 6 days between start dates, so 4 days between end and start, if you evenly distribute the auctions. But then, you could always run 2 auction at the same time at the end of the month.
  23. I have just recently started instancing in 6080 range, and noticed we have a much higher cooldown than the higher levels, even though we have less people, and dont farm them. There fore is suggest we swap the cooldowns around, helping to make farming higher level instances marginally more expensive, but not restricting lower levels who dont farm the instances. Since theres alot of instance discussions atm, please stick on topic, only discussing cooldown, and nothing else. Ty.

    I'm left vaguely confused by this... due to a number of reasons. You just put yourself into the position where you are a nice target for Wing and soLo, who can kill pretty much the vast majority of EL. As well as MAD having close links with soLo... Banning from bots just loses you trade, and easy to bypass and #ig ignore is just a pointless thing to do unless a guilds spamming you to hell. And im pretty sure alot of people at your level would say, if this occurred to a newbie, "always keep a rosto on you" when your carrying your prized possessions. Also, i have seen Tokie in DPA a few times, and guildies in KF a few times as well. I used to have them in deaths counter ^_^. Wait, "Just know that you cant stop us, no matter what you say, do or agree with the rest of the riff-raff." Stop what??? I'm not trying to antagonise you but theirs not much to stop in the ways of Pk. I've seen ianke enter KF more when the high levels are out.

    I like the ideas, and would just like to add to what stenzel said. It would be nice to buff to kill the feros,fluffy's and tigers, considering that not many can take them, due to either armour, build or prowess at fighting. Minor versions maybe, so that we can actually install a feeling of team play back into 4060 and a little less urgently, 6080. (dont tell me to teach them teamplay, if i have no tools to do so.) OTher then that, i agree totally with OP.
