This will end on Tuesday, October 23rd, at 10:00pm Central time (GMT -6). This is a bit like the 100k giveaway I did before, but there are some differences so please read to the end There are 3 bots now: Miria: right outside of Portland library [206,105] Tina: near the tavern in Emerald Valley Trade Route (c2) at [291, 259] Jeepers: near Desert Pines storage at [188, 108] To be eligible to win, all you have to do is trade with one of the 3 bots any time from when this thread was created, to when the event ends. If you don't trade during this interval, you won't be considered. Now your chances are proportional to how many "points" you earn, awarded as follows: 1) 8 points for each bot you trade with (24 points if you trade with all 3 bots) 2) Up to 100 points based on the volume of trading you do. 3) Up to 50 points for trades you've done in the past. #3 will apply for any future giveaways as well. This is designed to reward those who trade with my bots on a regular basis. I won't be making the number of points that everyone earns public, so please no PMs about this. I will do my best to make everything fair, and anyone who offers to pay me to rig the contest will be disqualified :> Results will be posted Tuesday, 11:30pm central time. EvilJoe Report post Posted October 21, 2007 (edited) OK here are some clarifications: * To be eligible to win, all you need to do is trade with one or more of the bots some time DURING THIS EVENT. * If you've done a good amount of trading in the past (yes, last week counts as the past ), you will get a boost to your chance to win. However, you still have to trade at least one time DURING THIS EVENT to be eligible. * Points do matter, but it's still random. Someone with 20 points has 2x chance of winning than someone who has 10 points, but either of them could win. (You could think of points as tickets in a raffle or lottery). * Everyone who participates in this event will have at *least* 8 points, because you get 8 points just for trading with a bot. * There are 2 ways to increase your points. Firstly, you can trade with all 3 bots instead of just 1 bot. So if you're smart, you can get 24 points practically for free. (Even trading 1 health essence or a bone will count). The second way is to just trade more items and items of higher value. EDIT: kaGen has the right idea- you can think of this event as a lottery, and think of Points as Tickets. However, this is much better than a lottery. With a lottery, you spend money on a ticket, and on average you LOSE money (like playing at a casino). That's because the prize is financed by your tickets, and the lottery operator takes some money as profit. However, I'm paying the 200kgc out of my own storage. You could conceivably sell ONE BONE to Jeepers and end up winning 200kgc- doesn't take a math whiz to figure out that's a good deal I know this all sounds really complicated so if you didn't follow all of that, here's the bottom line- just try to visit each of the 3 bots some time before the end of this event, and trade as many things as possible to have a better chance to win Hope that helps! Private- yes, past trades increase your chance to win but you still have to trade some time during this event to be eligible to win. EnGuard- points can be anywhere in the range of 5 to 174.
