A change for Rostogol Stones

Recommended Posts

Its not new that many players complain that rostogols ruined the game, pk, etc.

First, I think this is not hard to implement, there would be 4 changes in the game:

1) A new item to be made: The bless stone, made under crafting(i.e.). This item will require a Rostogol to be made, and some other cheap material to mix;

2) There would be a difference between the deaths:

2.1) A death to an animal/monster (including or not summons), would work exactly how it works nowadays: If you have a rostogol in your inventory, all your items are saved;

2.2) A death to a player: Rostogols wont work, and if you have a rostogol on your inv, you may drop it, depending on your luck (as any of other item on your inventory). You wont lose worn items that are blessed;

3) Blessing items: You wear all the items you want to bless (i.e.: a full tit set, a cape, a col, a mol, a weapon), and you "use" a bless stone: All items worn will be blessed and a item flag on the server will mark that as blessed. If you die wearing blessed items to a player, the items will lose their bless flag. A blessed item would see like this: Crown of life [blessed]. Death to monsters wont remove the bless flag (this would allow players to train on pk map without losing both rostogol and the bless from items);

4) When you enter a pk map, this message would be added to the warning: "Rostogol Stone doesn't work if you die to players".

This idea would keep rostogol in game, and also, allow players killed to drop their stuff in the inventory, like essences, potions, cloaks, weapons (blessed or not - only blessed worn items are saved - or maybe items on your inventory that are blessed are saved, but it lose the bless flag), summon stones, rings, meds, etc.

So both things will still exist: players saving their expensive armours, and rostogols are still on the game, keeping the gc outgoing from the game.

The hard thing would be to make players know about the new rule, but since players who uses rostogol stones are more experienced, I dont think it will be a problem. And could be some broadcasting from the mods saying rostogols changed (on the first days - to not catch unalerted players).

So, what do you think about it?

edit: typos.

You shouldn't try to define rules where things work differently because it is a player or an animal/monster involved. Any suggestion you should try to have balanced so that the same rules /guidelines happen no matter how it happens.

There are other things you haven't taken into account. What if Mother Nature kills you? Or Posion? etc.

Ok, its just a starting idea.

Completing: If the last hit that kills you is a hit from a player, a harm spell, or a damage/ring of power ring damage, you will drop all your items in your inventory, and only wont drop your blessed items (worn or not, depend of discussion)

Nice suggestion but it has two weak points:

1)defining the price for blessing the item(if its too low ppl will bless all their stuff, if its too high it wont also work), should it be same for all items or different?, also if bless should stay permanently until its used up or for some time only(till the begin of next day?)

2) how u wanna make devs to implement it, since there was like 1k threads/ideas about changing rostos, some made by newbie players who wanted forum attention, some were made by ppl who knew game and wanted simply make pk more attractive, and all those attempts failed :P
