monoceros Report post Posted August 14, 2007 (edited) I think above.net is having problems. There are a lot of people (companies) having trans-atlantic communication issues today. So maybe above.nets trans-atlantic long and back haul services are the problem. Good luck calling them and asking. lol Edited August 14, 2007 by monoceros
draegox Report post Posted August 14, 2007 So it started at about eight-thirty this morning and it's still going. Definitely not a server update. What could this possibly be that's blocking our dear server?! <

Washington state, Crapcast Comcast is my ISP. I also can't get to yahoo.com, times out as well. All other sites have worked that I tried. (On a side note, I'm basically computer illiterate, how do I get the output of the tracert to goto a file or whatever so I can copy/paste it? monoceros Report post Posted August 14, 2007 Right click on the DOS command promt and then select all. Once the information is selected hit CTRL C. You can paste is where you need to after that. Let me suggest Mandriva Linux though. lol..... Windows is on drugs. :-)

monoceros Report post Posted August 14, 2007 Called above.net's NMC and opened a ticket. They weren't aware of any problems (surprise).
weaverdas Report post Posted August 14, 2007 (edited) I called above.net as well. They asked me to send a traceroute to ipsupport at above dot net, which I did...we will see. EDIT: auto e-mail response: Dear Valued Customer, Thank you for opening a ticket with AboveNet. A ticket has been opened with the tracking number listed above. Please make sure the string ' [20070814-187-UPDATE]' is in the subject of any future email about this case. Our goal is to review ticket within 15 minutes of being created. However, during times of high ticket volume wait times may be longer. If this is a network emergency (business critical service affecting), please call 1-877-IP-XPERT (1-877-479-7378) option 1-2-2 to speak with our 24x7 NOC. Lyrendeile Report post Posted August 14, 2007 (edited) Hello Fellow EL Addicts; Currently speaking to Jay from Above.net who informs me that he and his associate are working on the problem, which seems very possibly be due to AT&T. Apparently, the destination is reachable from above.net or any lvl 3. The route is not being received from AT&T (no route back). They will contact AT&T and are doing their utmost to resolve the issue. Who says calling won't help? You never know... monoceros Report post Posted August 14, 2007 (edited) Give it some time. I believe they (or someone) deleted or changed some routing tables. They will eventually update. Edited August 14, 2007 by monoceros

weaverdas Report post Posted August 14, 2007 (edited) Same here. Do we need to contact sbc individually? Are they still "working" on this? EDIT: Have you contacted local carrier? Edited August 14, 2007 by weaverdas
The_Piper Report post Posted August 14, 2007 (edited) Same here. Do we need to contact sbc individually? Are they still "working" on this? Hopefully they are working on it, contacting them wont hurt, but be patient, it may take some time until this bug is fixed. By above.net, not by EL, Eternal Lands has nothing to do with your problems, thats it. Piper Edited August 14, 2007 by The_Piper
