Blue sky near water now showing as black

Recommended Posts

A long time ago the edges of the map showed up as black, then someone made a patch where, if there is water on the edges then you would see blue instead of black. The blue blended in more with the water tiles. Now with the latest cvs that blue is gone and it's black again.

Ideally the water should "fade away" into the blue, so you wouldn't see any ugly edges.

anyone have any info on this? I know it's not that important..but i'm curious as to why that blue was taken away.

I don't know about that change, but fading the edge of the map into the background colour is one of the things I intend to look at

Since this bug is very similar I thought I should post it in this thread.

Using the latest client CVS

Inside maps should have black surrounding them, but now they have blue:

Okay, I tried to figure out what was causing this bug, but apart from the fact that I only see the blue background when there's at least one water tile visible, I have no idea where or how this is done in the code.

So if there's a programmer who could enlighten me, it'd be much appreciated.

Ok I found out why this happens Grum :)

I'm sorry for kinda wasting your time. Has to do with the fact that I compiled my client with the SKY feature in it. If you have SHOW SKY on in the config options, that blue "ground" shows in inside maps. If you turn it off, it goes away.

So looks like it's just a bug with the SKY stuff.
