Life drain bug

Recommended Posts

When i cast life drain i sometimes get the following message:

Umm, that player doesn't exist (at least, not now)

I *think* it happens when the target i just about to move, possible moving just out of reach. I mainly used rats, bunnies and other small critters on IP to test it on.

I am using client: Eternal Lands Version 1.3.3 Beta on the main server.

Possibly this bug has been around for a long time, cause i never casted much life drains. Anyone else has the same 'problem'?

Have similar thing happen (training magic up on IP, hunting poor defenseless bunnies and beavers). Seems that you click on target just as they start to move. Since there is some delay between server and you, by the time the spell is executed, the critter has already moved and you get the message you quoted. I've just chalked it up to yet another minor problem due to server lag (or whatever the right term is - not technical enough to know the difference between server lag, client lag or whatever the right term is).

Not a bug. If you were to try more spells on Yeti, you'd realize they have some sort of resistance to the effects of (some?) magic spells.
