Arnieman Report post Posted September 27, 2006 I use an AMD AthlonXP processor. I prefer neither, particularly, though I have heard that AMD are better. Then again, that may just be a preference, and not actually a performance test of similar processors by both companies...

Sistema Report post Posted September 27, 2006 I use an Intel Pentium 4 2.6GHz processor. I just realised that it's Northwood and not Prescott (someone should explain what the difference is :S) Socket 478, Hyperthreading Technology, 800MHz FSB with MMX, SSE and SSE2 instruction set. I've never used an AMD processor before, so I wouldn't want to judge the two different CPUs. But if I were to get a new CPU, it'd probably be the Core 2 Duo's. I use a program called 'CPU-Z', which collects information about your processor and motherboard and some other stuff. Pretty handy. Try it out!
