His name is red as you can attack him regardless of which map you and he are on. Green names are for people using Demigod, a mode for Mods and up primarily for supervising contests. Karma is WanderingFool's way of knowing how nice you are. Your karma goes up if you heal him, and goes down if you kill him. Having high karma will get you a bonus from WanderingFool.
