k, after further exploring the source of EL, i found out that they set the second bit to the size of the msg that is sent to the server ... didnt quite expect that anywayz, I'm able to log my bot in just fine now

I've been trying to log in using qsockets, but so far i've had no luck i can connect to the server just fine, but when i send the login info i get disconnected .... could anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong here my source can be found here: elbot.tar.gz just go to the bottom of windowImpl.cpp, fill in your username and password and 'make' the binary should be called 'elbot' thx

I'll be making a bot named Necrobot soon in the beginning I will just use him to explore my own knowledge and hopefully learn a few more things about C++ (yeah, I'll be coding him in C++, not C ) Later on I hope to use him for guild related stuff, things like: - Respond to certain things on the guild channel - Announce the end of an ingame hour - Announce when a guildmember comes online (goes offline) - Implement a messaging system somewhat like an answering machine - Display random phrases now and then (using #GM) like warnings about Lava and other useless stuff - .... He'll probably do some harving too to get some exp things he wont be doing are: - fighting players (i may let him attack the occasional rabbit) - muling for other players - harving for other players - trading with other players (except maybe for when i want to give him cool fur outfits ) - basicly doing things that would give other players or guild members ANY kind of advantage you get the idea

that depends on the distribution of linux you are using and what you want to use you're computer for I'm using Gentoo Linux and when properly configured, i think it is much much better then Windows XP for instance some of my friends (mostly people who are studying computer science) accualy still prefer windows ... it's realy up to you if you think it is better or not

i think it would be nice to have the option to see timestamps on messages probably not a good idea to do so in regular mode, but showing them in console mode could be good you would be able to see when someone has pm'ed you or when someone said a certain thing on a channel you're on

the only thing i can make up is that he is used for lowering or increasing your karma? but what is karma anywayz, and what kind of stuff does he drop when you kill him?

I'm using the linux client (not that that should have anything to do with it) and i notice a drastic drop in FPS aswell I had about 15-25 FPS at first (unless i was in crowded areas, or in areas with a lot of objects, then it would drop to about 5) and now i have 0 FPS, sometimes 1 FPS even when I disable all the eyecandy like shadows and stuff, and even when i set the poor_guy variable to 1 has the new version become that much resource intensive??
