First step would be getting a good browser:

You won't see spyware getting installed through Mozilla/Firefox (at least not nearly as much )

 

Next step would be getting a good OS (but that is not entirely necissary to get rid of spyware).

AdWare is good, but not that great. I have a shit that infected IE (called VX2), and AdWare can't remove it, not even with a special plug in.

i don't use IE but something infected it that keeps it opened, something called "IECache" and "MPEGBlue" i keep removing the IECache with Ad-Aware but they come right back

IECache is the browser's installed website tracker. Kind of like EL chat log. It comes back beacuse it uses it.

Just because spyware detects it as spyware does not mean it actually is. Hell, I do remember running spyware about a couple weeks after I installed EL and it showed EL up as spyware.
