    Law of unintended consequences leads me to want to keep this list to the first three. If this is accepted and then goes well, we can revisit the other items. 1. Remove KF cap limit. 2. Leave KF as no-drop. 3. A safe area for spectators be added as described above with no magic and no summoning, maybe with a little tweaking to be discussed with Burn. I will direct radu to this post and he may or may not read up through the whole thing.

    Given that 1)we do not want to squander this opportunity, and 2)that time is slipping by, and 3)getting a consensus on what to change beyond the basics will be impossible given how this thread has gone, I propose this be presented to radu asap: 1. The cap limit be removed 2. It remain no-drop. 3. A safe area with no magic/summoning be added as described above. I believe that beyond getting radu's approval, the work involved would fall to Burn.

  5. Even people with proven coding expertise who have been here over a decade do not have server access. I can't imagine why anyone would think they would be able to show up here one day out of the blue, completely unknown to us, and expect immediate "server access" to tinker with (and most likely mess up) a functioning game with players. Especially if that someone is just learning himself, along with a gaggle of even less competent "students".

    Why would we need to create a new map? There are plenty of unused ones.

    How about KF be put back to "normal" - no caps, no restrictions, but still no drop? And then make another pk map have 130 cap AND attribute caps of <insert reasonable cap here> and also be no drop? Worse case scenario one doesn't get used and one will, but that's still better than we have now.

    I'm moving this thread to general chat because it's clear KF needs an overhaul. Issues that are frequently discussed and debated are: level cap, no drop, lack of attributes cap to accompany the level cap, and lack of engineering ability as dk pointed out. There may be more but obviously what we have now isn't working out so well. Please use this thread to post what you like and dislike about KF as it is and what you think will make it better (follow dk's example). Please no flaming. Hopefully you all can get a good discussion going and reach a consensus to present to radu to get it into next update.

    If keeping the a/d cap, shouldn't there be attribute caps as well? Although there is an argument for removing the a/d cap completely. The entire KF setup should be discussed imo.

    Are you logging them on from a different IP than Karolus? Such as from Android mobile?

    Tell me if I'm understanding what you said correctly: 1. You had a character named GreenGanjaKing before the big crash. (By the way, I do remember you.) 2. You remade a character (when we all had to) but named it something different. 3. You also made a character named GreenGanjaKing just to save the name. 4. You then "deleted" the placeholder character named GreenGanjaKing so that you could rename the character in my point #2 to GreenGanjaKing. For most of EL's history, #killme_yes has not worked even though it lets you type the command. You also would have needed radu (Entropy) to do any name switching for you. So if you have a better leveled character, it is not named GreenGanjaKing and you will need to remember what that character was named. After that gets sorted out, if you still want to name swap these two characters' names, you will need to pay radu $5 USD per name change. I also notice you have a forum account named GreenGanjaKing.

    There needs to be one more achievement to fill up that open slot. That's driving me nuts! Maybe an achievement for getting all gold achievements?

    @Nogrod: That's 6 years after I set up sound alerts. @bluap: What's the limit to how many sound alerts we can have? (I currently have 12) I don't mind getting rid of snds_alert.xml, that's just how I've always done it before. In my snds_config.xml file, the snds_alert include comes right before snds_client. I guess it's a good idea to remove snds_alert.xml now.

    I don't think I made it up. I set up my sound alerts around 2010 and used it ever since. It must have come with the sounds package at one point.

    I can't access either of your files. Is there a limit to how many alert sounds we can have?
  25. Reduce afk mob harvesting

    I edited my post immediately after. My objection still stands. One man's improvement is another man's destruction of a great item. I never cared for hurting the regular players in the attempt to stop a "problem" done by a handful of players or less. AFK fighting has never been illegal, and there are risks involved in it. Also, if you know somebody is afk, why aren't you just taking over the spawn?
