Even if you missed by a few metres, the elephant-gut-splash would still nail the mouse in all likelyhood. And you'd have some residual "scorched earth" effect from the rotting, decaying elephant parts: bacterial infections would bloom, infecting anything that came in contact with it. Not to mention infecting the groundwater, making the area unihabitable for months or years. Then there's the 3rd party assistance: the smell of blood attracting carnivorous predators to the area will help take out any other mice in the neighbourhood. To add to it.. how about adding crossbows? One handed and can use shield with it, but is weaker. Regular bows 2 handed, can't use shield, but stronger. :] Idea.
