Curse of the Snake Statue

The contest has been moved to a later date. It is now too late to be called a "Halloween Contest". So it will be in mid-December, some sort of "Newyear Contest".

 

Preparations are still going on, sorry about that. But we will be ready by then.

 

You can call this the BanE guild contest if you want to Now let's get on with the actual contest info!

Story

December 31 - 2005:

A lot of noise in the woods… The wizards and the mages have gathered for the annual sorcerer’s party. Every year, they come together and share new tricks. It’s never boring on those parties. But of course, they do not last forever. After the home-made fireworks at midnight, and the light show right after, they all went back to their magic palace.

After the last person had left, the forest suddenly disappeared, because it does not exist. It’s a special spell that only the Elder Wizard can cast. He creates a forest that is shut off from the outside world, with a portal that sends you back to reality. This is the only safe place where the wizards and the mages can have their party in peace.

So the party was over, and the Elder Wizard went home. But on his way there, he noticed a weird piece of art. As he went closer to take a better look, he found a sculpture of unknown beauty. It was a snake in all its glory, perfected in the smallest details. But nothing is perfect. The statue was cursed…

The Elder Wizard did not know about this, and he touched the statue. A bright flash blinded him and a few minutes later, when he regained vision, the statue had disappeared. It didn’t take long before the Elder Wizard knew what was going on. He started shrinking, his hair became grey, his body was weakening and there was nothing he could do… His powers fainted and in the end, he was no longer a wizard.

 

This year, December 1:

Today it’s quiet. And old man is working in his garden. All of a sudden he realises something. The annual sorcerer’s party is coming up! And yes, this old man is the Elder Wizard, cursed by the snake statue. He now realises that he cannot cast the forest spell. Fortunately, someone passes by and offers to help. It was a professor who had been studying magic powers since he was 12 years old. He said there is a certain item that can lift the curse. But only 1 person is capable of creating it. You need 5 ingredients, and those are … <FLASH>

When the professor told the ingredients, the snake statue flew by and infected the professor with amnesia, and he locked him up. The professor forgot about the cure, but he is probably able to remember them if he gets a hint. Anyway, now the wizard is looking for help. He has already gathered the ingredients, but he got so weak getting them, that you have to carry them to the Craftess. But the wizard doesn’t trust other people too easily. There might be a few minor problems. But one thing is certain: We have to make sure the sorcerer’s party can start on the first day of the year 2007!

 

How to play

In the beginning of the contest, the wizard will give you a hint on his location. When you meet him, he will give you a riddle. If you solve it, you will get an item which you have to bring to the Craftess. If you get it wrong, you will have to ask Infected Professor. The first time you get it wrong, you will also get a hint on the professor’s location. When you get to the Infected Professor, repeat the riddle. He will tell you the correct item. Then you can take the ingredient to Craftess, though you have to get it yourself. There will also be a hint for the Craftess’s location which you can get from the wizard. In the end, there will be 5 ingredients. If you bring all of them to the Craftess, she will create something that you can use to help the Wizard. However, the formula may not be very precise . Rules

- This is an individual contest. Discussion is allowed but not a smart thing to do if you want to win.

- Be nice and Role-Play a bit with the contest characters. If what you want is not clear to them, nothing will happen.

- Do not PK important characters (you may kill your opponentes though )

- In some cases we might encounter problems. If this happens please be patient and we will work everything out.

- No whining if you don't have something, or if you can't get something.

- Play fair: cheating in any way will be punished with instant disqualification. This includes spam on the contest channel.

- The channel will be 6 of course.

The contest has been moved to a far away date (still unknown) and it has gotten yet another new team. These things will remain secret until some time before the actual contest.
