Kill me

Recommended Posts

Pros

1) more action

Cons

1) EL loses alot of players

2) People will lose to much stuff

3) fighters will dominate the game

4) newbies will not like the game play, stopping EL from gain players, even killing the development.

(if you want action join a pvp server on WoW. earlyer while i was playing, there was 20 minutes of non-stop fighting over 38 minutes (crazy! :icon13: ))

in other words, bad idea

I think we have to many pk maps as it is. Have you been on some of them? They are dead. There is no reason to go there. I walked around one for an hour and the only time I saw anyone else was as i was leaving there were 2 ppl training at the entrance. Now I'm not saying get rid of pk maps, but I am suggesting you give us a good reason to go there. Maybe something that can't be found anywhere else. Then to get item you would need to hire guards or mercenaries to get you there and back Maybe even a big city like White Stone that sells items you can't get anywhre else Starts a whole new job industry and gives life to some pretty useless maps. And just a little bit of excitement, Cause right now the game is sadly lacking that. Even having to go on monster maps is no big deal once you have mm perk or cape. Just a thought

Best idea (in my oppinion) so far :D . Maybe we could make mercury harvestable only in PK maps? This would not only make a job for guards, but it would make it easier for alchemists to make Death ess :D . It would remove a money sink from the game though <_<

these pk map items will end up being bought and sold by those 'pkers' for a little bit less than it would cost for you to get them to escort you there(lots of gc)

As i said, the balance would be tipped unfairly towards those players who can get the goods without being killed.

Guards is a big no no aswell, if your not in a guild nobody will guard you, so you have to be very high level or extremely uber rich.

Jeee im a self quoter, i never thought this day would come, might aswell carry on...

How about a positive perk: Combatant; players with this perk can enter in combat wherever they wish.

So you can only enter combat if both players have it.

Though id say a 10pp perk for 30k gc or more to stop mass carnage.

If all the maps on EL would be PK maps i'm out!

I'm not a fighter and i won't be 1 either so i'm staying away from the PK maps, if all the maps would be PK maps i don't have anything 2 do in EL so i would quit the game as soon as it gets implemented.

Let it be as it is, i want 2 keep playing EL! :P

I still think my ideas better  :hiya:

I don't. Last thing we need is another Perk to unbalance the chaos we call this game. In fact, it's time we should start thinking away from the whole Perk system entirely, as it will become obsolete soon.

I agree with Kami, the perk system is totally OBSOLETE.

Anyway, I came to say something else.

First, an absolutely NECESSARY addition along woith full PK maps would be guards. if he whave guards placed often around most cities on the map, then it would be much less carnage and prove a logical point: It's MUCH safer in cities than out in the wild. of course, if we didn't implement this, than look at what would happen: fighters would rulte the game, could kill freely and be the most profitable business by far. But with guards covering IP(whichc I believe shouldn't be PK even in Full PK) and major cities, it will shift the players into the cities of EL, solving our "dead maps" problem. Second, the players in Counquer online have Full pk, but if you create a character and start training as a newb and continue playing you will almost NEVER get Pked, because their players know there is a consequence and, sadly unlike EL, are just more friendly than that. (of course every game has their downright jerks and I am not saying EL is full of mean PKers, they have waaaay more nice than bad, but there are more hardcore PKers due to the intrest of fighting in the game.) so if we gave some people time in this server for a couple months and let a "cause-effect" type of fighting continue, our players will eventually have enough sense to learn to not Pk everyone he sees through his/her bloodshot eyes.

I wanna add my two cents: First of all, as a few people might know, my opinion on implementing ideas from other games is "If it worked elsewhere, it probably can work here".

Well, now I start in the history of a little game called Ultima Online. Once upon a time, they only had one map in their servers, a place called "Felucca". This place was a PK paradise for people who wanted to PK, and in the days when less people were on the UO shards, this wasn't too big a problem. Towns were guarded, granting some protection against PKers, and there was a game-coded system for making people accountable for their actions (also known as the blue-gray-red system). Later, a "free-kill" land was introduced to allow people even more PK freedom (Delucia (sp?)).

As time rolled on, player base grew, and PK grew abundant on the UO shards. It grew so much that nonPK players sadly weren't able to roleplay their positions without CONSTANT slaughter, if they even chose to approach city limits. Consequently, cities also became lagged, with players who couldn't fight in fear of leaving.

Eventually, factors came to the point that a new land was introduced, the land of Trammel. In Trammel, PKers couldn't PK anyone except other PKers. Felucca still existed for PKers, and some benefits even gave miners and other tradespersons reason to risk danger, but Trammel offered safety for those who simply wanted to reduce their danger.

Long story short: All PK soon turns into a bad idea for all - old blood leaves game, new blood stops coming in, and before long, people start competing for the title "last player". If we did decide to become an PK-all-map game, we have MULTITUDES of things that still need worked on to get there, and I'm doubting that there are many players that really want such an option.
