several ideas..

Recommended Posts

I checked for most of the stuff, added some stuff towards the end that just popped in my head.

Teleport Room Ring

Advantages -

- New Book for crafters/fighters to get.

- New Item for market.

This could be good for people who do not have high magic to see the teleporter room if they can a hold of one. I know what about the normal teleport rings we have now.. well there are only 6 of them and for the lazy well i know i would buy them lol. The skill would and should be rather high maybe 35-40 craft to make one. As far as the ingreds go didnt really put much thought into that.

New mobs/maps

Advantages -

- New Map for people to explorer

- New monster/person to fight

What i was thinking is a new map where u have to take a boat. Maybe a prisoner's island over run with different types/or same people. Not a pk map but the new mobs could be people. Maybe have 3-4 small villages with groups of the new threat. Possibility for more drops in the future, part of a quest normal/god where you must kill the leader of the island of prisoners or something like that. You guys are creative you'll think of something. Maybe program the mobs to multi attack a player. This way there could be raids/groups that would go to the island to fight. Each mob should have diff levels or the diff villages should some weaker and some stronger people in them to allow mid fighters to go as well.

New Golden Items

Advantages

- New item for market

- New book for the item for manu'rs

Doubt it would look all that good, but some golden armor kinda like iron set but different design and different attributes. The level might be higher to make or lower depending on the att. the item has n what not.

...got some other stuff but to lazy to put it up

Nw monsters will be introduced, as well as a 2nd continent, gold amour would be physically too heavy to wear in real life i think.

most all of this besides tele ring to tele room has been suggested... but about the tele ring to tele room.... whats the point cuz you can get their when you have 24 magic and thats the same as the tele ring and all the other important maps have rings of their own and the point of the tele room is to tele lol :D

A teleport ring only weighs 1 EMU instead of the 7 EMU required for the 7 essences required for the Teleport to the Portals Room spell (and only takes one slot instead of 3).

The main problem with the portals room ring is that it makes all other rings obsolete. Once you have a portal room ring, you don't NEED any other rings. So, if portal room rings start being mass-produced by crafters trying to level past 40, it creates a lot of problems for lower-level crafters making the other rings, as they cannot sell anything.

With regards to the second idea, it's been around and planned for quite some time now. In fact, that is one of the ultimate goals that the developers are aiming for, if I recall correctly. It's just that there are a lot of steps to go before that, in order to make it possible, so it'll take some time.

Not if ordinary rings are made more useful. For example, a tele room ring would be one use only, ordinary rings would have 5 uses. A tele room ring would also require more pps in nexuses.

There has, historically (real life timeline), been gold armors made. They looked good, but were crap for fighting. Therefore, gold/silver armors would likely only have a ceremonial use.

But it would be wearable.

I cannot agree more with Lyanna. This would cause an untold amount of damage to the already risky market. What more uses? Could you list what you meant by normal rings being more useful?

A tele. to portals room ring would be a terrible addition.

I agree, unless its ingredients make it significantly more expensive than other teleport rings. For instance, one could make it like this

Ring of Omnipresence

Ingredients

1 Silver Ring

1 Gold Ring

2 Polished Rubies

2 Polished Emeralds

1 Polished Sapphire

1 Polished Diamond

3 Fire Essences

1 Enriched Energy Essence

Enriched Energy Essence

Chance of 1/400 to make this instead of Energy Essence.

Ring of Omnipresence Building

Prerequisites

Ring Composition

Ruby Embedding

Emerald Embedding

Sapphire Embedding

Diamond Embedding

Book of Ring Composition

Prerequisites

Silver Ring Building

Gold Ring Building

And that way it would not make ordinary teleport rings obsolete. Usually you know where you want to teleport in advance, so this ring would be used only when really needed in order to save money.

With regards

Lachesis

Allowing rings to be used more than once is still a bad idea, because it lowers the demand for them, hence killing the market. Raising the requirements to make tele to portals room rings MAY work, but if there is no other thing to make beyond level 40 crafting, then they're still going to be mass-produced in the current system, so it only slows down the problem.

The only way I can think of which MAY allow normal teleport rings and tele-to-portals-room rings to work together is if the normal teleport rings teleport you directly outside the most useful locations in those map (ie. just next to storage, or above the catacombs, etc.) Then, what you have is specialised demand for the normal teleport rings, opposed to greater flexibility for the portals room ring (which teleports you to less convenient spots).

But then you'll have to consider the possible effects on the relevant magic spell.

BUT it makes them more useful.

The problem with rings is that they are single use. It just doesn't parse with most people, along with the fact that they can't be worn. Make them tokens rather then rings and the whole perceptual disconnect goes away...

Alternatively, you could make rings "degrade" back into plain Gold or Silver Rings after they have been used. Sort of like Potions and Vials. What gets "used up" is the enchanted polished gems that were set into the ring. That way, the cost of levelling crafting goes down.

Very nice idea...but then we'd need some use for the plain rings also, or at least an NPC buying them, or they would pile up in the game.

Perhaps they could be re-used. I.e, crafters could buy them back from players?

Or, if people just disliked them and discarded them like bones, crafters could go 'bag-hunting' for peoples gold/silver rings that they've left.

i expect that this idea would make the plain rings very much similar to vials... they'd be returned for a bit of cash back or a discount on the next purchase

The problem is that most crafters make rings to start ther crafters career. Thus, other than vials, they are made not only to be used and reused, but also to level, meaning there will be too many of them very soon.

Implement some quests involving collecting large amounts of rings to drain off the supply. eg.

1st Crafting God quest: Collect 500 Silver Rings

2nd Crafting God quest: Collect 1000 Gold Rings.

Problem solved, in a nice, neat loop.

I think your on to something there!

Soldus, thats not necessarily a bad thing, silver/gold rings being the 'vial of crafting' could be quite nice

I think these quests would require larger amounts of rings to be made than necessary for gaining the appropriate skills anyway, otherwise the quest would make little sense. However, I still do not like this idea; it would reduce the possibilities for division of labour between higher-skilled and lower-skilled crafters, because the former would not need any silver/gold rings anymore.
