Animation for shapeshifting

I was thinking on the classic metamorphosis trick of the Mages shows, they cover themself with some canvas or surrend themself with some smoke.

 

So my suggestion is to make an animation that cover the shapeshifting, something like a cloud as the animation for restoration spell

Or why not animate interpolation of appearance between character and shifted form? Or some distortion, stretching, twirling, warping or contorting

Smoke might be easy.

 

Of course, fading out the one form and fading in the new might be easy too.

 

If Roja decides to do any sort of effects for this, I wish her luck with it and will be glad to see the results.

I think even the level up effects or something similar in a different color would even look great.
