have you ever heard of a little thing called yahoo? and how yahoo exploided from a serch engine into a serch engin/email/messenger

 

well this little compain i like to call google is setting up gmail

 

You get 1k MB of storage space for you mails it has a nice layout so all replies to and from a person or group are all bundled togather in one topic so you dont have to do pointless quoting or go search your emails for what ever you wrote that perticular person last..

 

Its still in beta i think not to sure

I was invited to gmail by 2 different peeps and i accepted one of the invites =)

That much of quota is only useful if you store stuff there, like photos, archives etc. Every day I am

receiving like 60-100 emails and my mail folders are 15 mb:

4,3M /var/spool/mail/teh banned 0n3na

11M mail

Well, if you daily get 50 e-mails lets say (plain text only) it is about 5kb each so its 250kb. after one year of usage you have 91250kb of stored informations (plain text only). If you get one picture every day it takes anoter 90000kb.

Since the idea of gmail is "dont erase any of your messages" 1gb will suit you well for 100 years of you life . But remember plain text only and only one picutre a day ;]

I was told all about g-nail ages ago... on the first of april to be exact. I thought it was an april fools joke and I've managed to confuse myself over what is fact and what is fiction ever since. Really I'm not all that bothered though as I have my own super good email facilities anyway.

Selling invites is kinda stupid in my opinion there for a free beta testing program i am sure some where in there its braking part of the agreement or someing maybe they will get sued?
