Not everyone enjoys walking around the whole continent for nothing. Not a newbie either and I see no fun in wasting time, you don't need a quest just to walk around. Quest should have some mean ing or purpose, not just a reason to wander and explore, I can do that and have done that without taking part in side quests Also:had a thought about PKing. What if there was a "special day" w/ no PKing, that way all of the maps would be accessible by everyone, including NOOBS. Pyewacket Report post Posted July 20, 2008 As a player, I found the quests invaluable when first learning my way around EL. The players helped, of course, but the history side and storylines emerge about the continents and maps only from following these quests ingame. There's also the various contests held regularly on channel 7, where those quests are sometimes referred to by Moderators that host the contests (Acelon in particular will use various quest references as well as cryptic and visual puzzles for his "hunt me" contests). All in all, the quests are an important and integral part of what gives EL some depth of gameplay beyond the mere grinding of exp, and brings out a rich tapestry of intricate storylines, if you actually read along on them. A lot of work has gone on behind the scenes to get the quests done, and still more is being done on stories & quests (check out the storyboard section of the forums - the writers on there may very well be writing the next quest you try out one day!).
