real armor

Recommended Posts

That was the European chaimail.

I like the idea of the Orient chainmail which had edges to actually catch the sword in the chainmail, leaving the attacker vunerable to a counterattack while there sword was stuck.

I'm sure there will be a lot more cool armor and weapons and stuff in the future

Why it is called chainmail anyways? I mean, mail is something the postman delivers, unless it's e-mail...

And I thought chainmail was those "please forward this letter to five people before next full moon" letters.

lol

in dutch it's called maliënkolder, where the "maliën" are the little rings the thing is made of. I'm guessing that the "mail" in chainmail stems from the same word.

its like making a chain of paper clips then attaching them together to make armor!

only that the paperclips where made of 1cm thick iron/steel rings :D

chainmail is actually a redundant word because in medieval times "mail" reffered to "armor made of chain links"

so what dose chain mean then? why didnt they just call it mail? :?

If needed I could help out with the armor naming, designing and formulating, just give me the word!
