Roja Report post Posted January 18, 2011 Just go through the check list.. 1. Correct directory? Example for windows: the directory should look like: C:\Program Files\Eternal Lands\sound\file.ogg It should NOT look like this: C:\Program Files\Eternal Lands\sound\sound\file.ogg 2. Enabled in the game? Options>Audio>Enable Sound Effects. Make sure Sound Gain is up high. 3. You installed the FULL pack and not just the update? 4. You restarted the game? 5. Other audio works on your computer?
Ateh Report post Posted January 19, 2011 (edited) ok right on roja thanks for the reply its working now really great to hear some sound from EL ! so yeh I found if I tried to unzip the file straight to eternal lands in C drive, it created the sound/sound issue with the file name way around it was to unzip the file onto my desktop and just copy and paste the sound file into EL folder hope this makes sense to any other nooblets trying to install the sound thanks again Edited January 19, 2011 by Ateh
Roja Report post Posted January 20, 2011 Or when you unzip choose "extract here" instead of extracting into a folder the zip program makes.
groomsh Report post Posted January 20, 2011 Maybe a simple nullsoft installer that will read registry key to detect installation directory and unpacks it there would be nice to have to avoid problems like this.
Roja Report post Posted January 20, 2011 If I knew how to do something like that maybe. For now, people will have to resort to reading
Ateh Report post Posted January 21, 2011 im pretty sure when I first extracted the file right into the EL directory I copied and pasted the extraction destination from the main website how to steps. as in C:\Program Files\Eternal Lands\sound but after extraction it created the sound\sound folder
Roja Report post Posted January 21, 2011 Yeah it will do that if you extract it by having it also make a folder. That's why it's also stated right under that line to not make the directory /sound/sound.
