Guest Nini Report post Posted November 18, 2008 Hi, I recently downloaded Eternal Lands and tried to run it for the first time, but it came up with this message: Connecting to Server... Disconnected from server! Press Alt-x to close the game I have Norton Internet Security, I'm not sure if that's the problem, I have played around with the settings and had no success though I may not have been doing the right thing. Please can someone help me? Thank you, Nini
Guest Guest_Wesmania_* Report post Posted November 24, 2008 I have the same problem. Several months ago, I disconnected form server and couldn't connect again. After a month, I was finally able to connect again. Now I added music... and it doesn't work again! Why is that? Log: [17:04:25] Error: Server profile not found in servers.lst for server: Lands\el.exe". Failover to server: main. bluap Report post Posted November 25, 2008 [17:04:25] Warning: Didn't find your data_dir, using the current directory instead. Please correct this in your el.ini . Given data_dir was: "c:\Program Files\Eternal Lands\" This bit shows that your el.ini file does not have the "data_dir" value set to the correct place. The fall back in this situation is to use the current directory, normally where you started the client. Are you starting the client from the directory where you have the data stored? Guest Nini Report post Posted November 27, 2008 I'm now pretty much certain that Norton is not my problem, but I still have no idea what the problem is. Gampa Report post Posted November 28, 2008 Try to connect to the test server (which runs on port 2001), some ISP's seem to block port 2000 (main server). If you can get on the test server, you should contact your ISP.

Raz Report post Posted January 8, 2009 So - the test server works, the main server does not. As someone has already suggested - port 2000 is being blocked / redirected by your router / ISP / firewall. Try turning off all those things... There is a paid for service that allows you to connect to el with a different port, but you obviously wont want to pay for the game until you know that you like it.
