First, since your screen shot looks like a windows one (windows ME ??), try to update the drivers for your graphics card.

 

Since your friend, to whom i was talking in game, has the same graphics chipset than you have, try to use the same driver version he uses.

 

Otherwise, giving us more informations about your computer, which operating system version exactly youre using, the exact graphics chipset and so on might help.

it's xp and im using the same exact update as him and i downloaded the game 3 times and still thew same exact thing keeps coming up

 

This is making really mad i updated my drivers is there a way for u to get www.teamviewer.com and go there ill tell u my id and pass for it so u can remotly control my pc to see what's wrong?

Well, my last thought is, use the same options in EL like your friend does.

 

Like, trying the #poor_man option and such, turn off all #eye_candy stuff and so on.

 

Maybe someone else has a better idea than i do, but to be honest, i have seen a lot of crap concerning graphics stuff, but never a screenie like the one you posted o.O

I think it's just a problem with the data dir that is not set correctly in the el.ini file. So edit this file in your personal settings directory and change the data_dir variable in order it points to the directory where you've installed EL.

i had that problem when the new update came out on my desktop, it was something to do with the drivers, relating to the support of openGL 2, as far as i can tell, maybe you should check you have the latest drivers, these are not always easy to find, for example the drivers i got off the nvidia website were not the latest drivers for my card and it took several emails with them to get them, if you have an ATI card however, you probably won't have to much trouble with this.
