Guest berkz Report post Posted December 5, 2003 I'm having trouble starting.. First I got an error missing some sdl library. I'm on gentoo so I did a emerge sdl-mixer now I get this error bash-2.05b$ ./el.x86.linux.bin Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed) my guess is I don't have all of the sdl files needed.. any hints on which ones are needed? Entropy Report post Posted December 5, 2003 Hmm, first of all, look if there is a file, error_log.txt in the EL directory. If it is non empty, post it's content here. Second, try to reinstall all the SDL libraries, they might be outdated or something. Also, post your system info.
Cicero Report post Posted December 5, 2003 Make sure the directory is writable by your user/group. I get the same error if I can't write to the directory (and subdirectories).
Cicero Report post Posted December 5, 2003 I'm on gentoo . . . So am I. I've been planning on writing an ebuild. If it's ok with Ent, I'll do it this weekend.
Entropy Report post Posted December 5, 2003 What's an ebuild?
Guest berkz Report post Posted December 6, 2003 ahh that one I can answer .. Ebuild is a script which downloads a program's sources and build's it with pre specified gcc options to get the most out of your hardware ... I'll try et as root... Entropy Report post Posted December 6, 2003 That would be hard, since EL's source is not [yet] public
