LabRat Report post Posted November 13, 2006 sure can - you have the wrong keyboard mapping to get # use shift+3 to get @ use shift+2 or conversely to get # use the key 3 keys to the right of the L key to get @ use shift+(the key 2 keys to the right of the L key)

freeone3000 Report post Posted December 22, 2006 It works on US 101 and 104 qwerty keyboards. It does *not* work (accurately) on other keyboards. (SOMEONE should fix this. >.<)

Since you have it mapped UK, I know you can get the # sign by doing ALT+3 on the UK keyboard layout when outside of EL, but it won't recognize in EL. LabRat Report post Posted December 30, 2006 What keyboard layout do you use? What do you get when you press shift+2 shift+3 shift+(the key 2 keys to the right of the L key) shift+(the key 3 keys to the right of the L key) If you get: '@' for shift+2 '#' for shift+3 " for shift+(the key 2 keys to the right of the L key) shift+(the key 3 keys to the right of the L key) That means that the keyboard is mapped as US (the default). A guide to remapping your keyboard can be found here
0ctane Report post Posted December 30, 2006 hi guys got a little problem when im not on el i can use # and @but when i go onto el it dose not work so i have to keep on copy and pasteing it dose anyone have a idea if u do please can u help me This is a known problem on some Mac international keyboards. For example, british mac keyboards have the british pound mapped to shift-3 rather than #. It works on US 101 and 104 qwerty keyboards. It does *not* work (accurately) on other keyboards. (SOMEONE should fix this. >.<) I know where the problem is in the code, and I am working on a fix already. Although, it sounds like jammie's problem might be a little different. littlestar Report post Posted December 30, 2006 Don't know if it is of any help but I had a similar problem, due to the fact that I normally use Alt-Gr+2 for @ (swedish layout, a bit messed up tho). For some reason EL think Alt-Gr = Ctrl (iirc) and so instead of getting @ EL used the predefined Ctrl+2 (use slot 2, iirc) so I worked around it by redefining all Ctrl+1-6 to Alt+q-y in key.ini
MagpieLee Report post Posted December 30, 2006 Your input local might have changed. Alt-shift (or whatever) and it will change back
