ttlanhil Report post Posted July 5, 2006 open up your el.ini[1], and look for the line that starts "#server_address = " it should be set to eternal-lands.network-studio.com (or eternal-lands.solexine.fr or 62.93.225.26 should also work) if it isn't, even a small typo (only exception is if there's a period on the end and it's not the number version, that's okay), then fix it. if you still have problems, try changing it from the name to the numbers (62.93.225.26), just copy the line and leave the "#" off the start for the backup footnote: for most people, use Win+E to open file explorer, then click(or double click, depending) on 'my computer', click on '... (C:)', click on 'Program Files', click on 'Eternal Lands', then double click the file called "el.ini". if you have extensions turned off (which is all sorts of wrong, but M$ likes doing evil things), you'll have several files called "el". look for one with a note-pad sort of icon. if windows asks what to open it with, select 'notepad' (it should be on the list) some people may have installed EL to a different location. those people are assumed to know where that is and adjust accordingly
Entropy Report post Posted July 5, 2006 That's because of your antivirus/firewall. Tell it to let the EL client to access the server.
