Xanti Report post Posted October 21, 2005 (edited) Since the new client has arrived I have been having some difficulties with the game crashing. The frequency varies but it is ever-present. Some times every 10 minutes, sometimes every hour or so. After checking my error log I noticed it is almost entirely filled with: No Anim: ./animations/player_slash1.caf There is the odd other error, but we are talking miniscule amounts in comparison, I'm talking hundreds to one. I am running a Pentium 4, 2.8GHz with 1 gig of ram. XP Pro and a GeForce FX 5200. Any thoughts? Edited October 21, 2005 by Xanti
Derin Report post Posted October 21, 2005 This error has shown a remarkable staying power. Here is a work-around for the error: Search for ./animations/player_slash2.caf Copy it to a different directory and rename it to: player_slash1.caf the copy the renamed file to ./animations/ and overwrite the old player_slash1.caf
ttlanhil Report post Posted October 21, 2005 No Anim: ./animations/player_slash1.caf yeah, known problem, but it won't cause you to crash (at least, I've had the same errror a long time and haven't had a crash that I didn't cause myself)There is the odd other error, but we are talking miniscule amounts in comparison, I'm talking hundreds to one. 211974[/snapback] hundreds is right [19:39:54] No Anim: ./animations/player_slash1.cafLast message repeated 527 times [19:39:57] No Anim: ./animations/canine_pain.caf Last message repeated 2 times [19:39:57] No Anim: ./animations/player_slash1.caf Last message repeated 527 times (yes, I have a modification so that it doesn't repeat the same error message... there's not much point in having the same error again. since it counts the number of times the message was repeated, you can still see if it's a frequent problem) that's a total of 1056 times that error message comes up ^_^

Several times. Even the whole "Delete the folder and completely reinstall" shiznit. and this whole chaning slash1 to slash2 whatever, can't this be fixed in the update so everyone doesn't have to do this? Lorck Report post Posted October 26, 2005 How about the errors i posted in The bug report section. Those missing textures should be in the regular client? If afirmative why they are not in the official linux client? I dont experience crashes regularly but still many, many stuff dont get displayed, and for instance i cant walk in the Grahms village tavern and some other places, trees are shown without leaves, etc...
