dragonlord Report post Posted October 1, 2005 "If a brick weighs 3 pounds plus half a brick, how much does two bricks weigh?" It would actually cycle forever... 3 pounds + half a brick = 4.5 pounds. But then half of the brick would now be 2.25 pounds. So the brick would weigh 5.25 pounds. But now, half of the brick is 2.625 pounds. So the brick would weigh 5.625 pounds. So on and so forth. 203715 BUT YOU DONT DIVIDE THE 4.5!!!!!! ITS ONLY TELLING YOU THAT ONE BRICK EQUALS 3 LBS PLUS ONE HALF OF 3 LBS!!!!!!

Atreyu Report post Posted October 1, 2005 (edited) Dragonlord it's a paradox. Get it through your head.. I will find some proof, I swear to God. Already searching for "brick riddles" on google. Answer to my "What am I?" riddle: Nothing. **Just fill in the blanks for each one with "nothing". I'm more powerful than God. Nothing is more powerful. I'm more evil than the devil. Nothing is more evil. The poor have me. They have nothing. The rich need me. There is nothing they need. If you eat me, you'll die. You will die if you don't eat anything. What am I? Nothing. gilthanas Report post Posted October 1, 2005 (edited) anyways, what is the answer to the 3rd riddle? @ dragonlord, if you meant this definition of paradox a self-contradictory statement that at first seems true then why did you defend it saying that it is true? dragonlord Report post Posted October 1, 2005 anyways, what is the answer to the 3rd riddle?@ dragonlord, if you meant this definition of paradox then why did you defend it saying that it is true? 203731 you mean a oxymoron? a paradox is: a statement that seems contradictory or absurd at first, but may be actually true ( FULL meaning of paradox ) and oxymoron you bring together 2 contradictory words. thats not a oxymoron

dragonlord Report post Posted October 1, 2005 (edited) I HAVE THE ANSWER!!!!! THE FULL MATHEMATICAL ANSWER!!! Just edit some of the numbers like "1" to 3 and you have it... How Heavy is the Brick? Date: 11/15/97 at 02:16:08 From: kylie malligan Subject: Brick The question is, "If a brick weighs a kilogram plus half a brick, how heavy is the brick?" I think that the brick weighs one and a half kilograms, but I'm not sure. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: 11/25/97 at 11:49:09 From: Doctor Allan Subject: Re: Brick Hi Kylie, You should try to make an equation out of this. What happens if you call the weight of the brick x? You should be able to get the following equation: x = 1 + (1/2)x Do you see why? You just need to find the value of x in order to answer your question.
