Prices on weps/armour

Recommended Posts

Ok heres my idea:

We get prices for all the armours and weapons and leave it here so people know the price to pay. Please reply with prices for certain things. I think it would be useful if we get prices on magic swords as well. Please post if price wrong.

Thank you.

SWORDS

Iron sword = 200gc

Iron broad = 250-350gc

Steel long = 300gc

Steel 2 edged = 250gc

Titanium short = 500gc

Titanium long = 900-1k

Titanium serp = 9-10k

BODY ARMOUR

SHEILDS

MAGIC SWORDS

AXES

STAFFS

CAPES

i think NPC prices should be higher, that way we can actually make a profit. (as i have said many times before)

Does not matter how much NPC charges. Players are our own worst enimies. As long as there are some idiots selling cruisses for 7k we will never make a profit. Hell the efe alone costs 6k sometimes.

Yes, the fact that we have all these n00bs coming in and thinking "Hey, I'm gonna get rich quick so screw it!"

There will never be a uniformed pricing system, which is the downfall of the market.

I craft, an it ticks me off when I see Rich's bot selling rings for so low that I can't beat the price. I mean yea I make everything from scratch (except sanders) and everything I do make is a profit, but I want to make as much as possible, not just enough to get by on.

We all need to get together and decide to stick to the prices, but I don't see that happening any time soon.

I'm not suggesting price fixing (either by agreement or enforced in the game) but if the minimum price for any item was the sum of the price for the ingreients, then people who buy everything would break-even, but those that make everything (the can) from scratch could make a profit. So the price of a ring (for example) would be the NPC price of the metal bar, the polished gem, and any essence needed.

Perhaps if the NPC prices were all set with this standard in mind (for both buying and selling prices), it might help pull the market up. Then there might be other ways to make money besides ye olde harvest/sell loops.

I say we start another Manufacturers Union, slightly like the rebellion LochnessLobster started up a while ago. It depresses me seeing greaves and cuisses selling for as little as 6k, Serps at 7.5k, and axes less than 1000 gc. I think all manufacturers should unite together, setting prices at no less than 10k for Cuisses, Greaves, and Serps. Set prices for axes, plates, etc. Since the only place you can get these is from other players (not drop or anything) players in need of these will realize that the only way they can get them if from manuers part of this league. The only problem is, manuers who are then selling those items at 9.5k....

If anyone is with me on setting up a Manu Union, let me know via forum PM

a union would be good except there will still be noobs selling items for too little.

unless we got mod co-operation who would mute people selling to sell or make them sell higher.

LOL you got titanium long at 1k. You know there's an efe in there?? I'll stick to making serps if thats all you get for them. Although I don't see why they need an efe, they're a bit of a waste and i bypassed them from tit short to serps. There is no incentive to make them

The problem with the tit long is that the monster drops brought the price down on those. There were so many of them dropped that it flooded the market and killed the price.

Yes there will always be n00bs that try to sell low, but if all of us that are serious about the trade we have chosen and band together, we might just be able to get the market back under control.

The mods and the admins are not going to touch this issue. It is up to us, the players to get this back under control. But if we all just sit by and hope it will work itself out, it will only get worse.

If anyone else is up for trying to organize and get the market back on track, then we need to set up a time and meet in game and discuss what measures we can take.

Sorry for such a long post, but it's about time we do something about this.

You can't make a hard and fast list as things on market fluctuate.

And unions... in real life they work. Why? Because people's skills are relatively set. In real life it would be impractical for such a large group of people to have a diverse range of high level skills. In this game that is not so.

So what does a union and strikes do? It encourages people to make their own. So now people are making their own stuff which means the union is selling less. And since unions are not mandatory, rogues charge what they want, undercutting the whole union. (In case that wasn't clear enough, you give power to the generalists to be self sufficent and not need the skills of the specialists.)

I agree with Kit, and in fact I'm one of those generalists he refers to.

Having never been able to decide what I want to be in this game, I've (by default) picked a self-sufficient role (a generalist) where I can make almost everyhing I need myself (I can't do some of the advanced swords (which I never use anyway) nor some of the advanced armor).

A nice side-effect of this path is some degree of wealth since I'm not spending everything I make buying things I need. Really the only expenses I have are things you simply can't make (thread, leather, sand paper, wine, etc). But a few TI harvest/sell runs more than pays for those basic supplies.

At this point the only thing that seperates me from a specialist is a few weeks/months of focused effort on one skill (and perhaps a few nexus points depending on the skill). But given the supply/demand/price data I see, I'm not sure it would be worth the effort to specialize.

Perhaps I'll be a collector. I wonder what rare and expensive artifact I could consider collecting... :)
