A little Something I wrote

Recommended Posts

This is a little something I wrote the other day, and I am only posting by the prompting of those that have seen it.

This goes out to all who have become true friends through a computer..

Though separated by miles, and sometimes even language..

Internet friends have oft times proven to be more true that those in real life

Crumbled Walls

What do I write, what do I say?

Nothing explains how I feel this way

So hard to let go of the walls in my heart

Their crumbling feels good, but my brain says not smart

My head is worried that my heart is content

Finally free from all my past has meant

Heartache, loneliness, sorrow and fear,

The anger and criticism are no longer near

Defenses were raised to handle it all

Built to last, and never to fall

My world fell apart, but the walls stood strong

Used to the chaos for far too long

My foundation was cracked, but the real me is free

True friends emerged, knowing my need

With words of encouragement typed on a screen

They were the ones there, with *hugs* for me

Abandoned by family and friends in “real lifeâ€

Only internet friends stayed real through the strife

I may not recognize you on the street

But I know your soul, for ours did meet

Internet friends, you broke through my wall

Tore it apart, and watched the bricks fall

You saw me emerge from the wall that was damned

Confident and strong

The woman I am

I must post here Shallara you are very talanted and write from your heart.

This poem is the fourth poem from you that I have read. all three are very awesome I am very proud that you are a lair dweller. can I add this one to the site so the rest of the online world can get to it through the lair?

WOW

you are at home when pen meets page aren't you, and the best thing about that is that it translates so well here when finger meets key.

I love this work of yours because it tells the story that we all are a part of.

Thank you very much for sharing

I'm so glad y'all enjoyed "Crumbled Walls"

Here's another of mine.. with a slightly different tone...

How dare you?

How dare you do this to my son?

My beautiful child, generous and kind

Helpful, considerate, a wonderful mind.

How dare you do this to my boy?

You showed him, taught him, the wrong way to be

Selfish and angry, always raging at me.

How dare you do this to my child?

Now he is the one that is angry and mad

Not knowing the fault is all on his dad

How dare you do this to my life?

I thought I'd escaped the anger you hold

The selfish, uncaring heart that grew cold

Instead I see you in my kid's eyes

That cold, hard look that dares to defy

The unbending, unbreaking, unwillingness you had

My precious children all have it, thanks to their dad.

For a Friend

I am not special

I am only me

for nothing else

could I ever be

No word defines me

No sentence completes me

No paragraph, chapter

or book could explain me

My heart reaches out

to those hearts in need

The hearts that are battered

and broken, that bleed

I've been told before

and I'll be told again

I care way too much

even for friends

I ache when you ache

When you're troubled I worry

I'll be there for you at all times

with no judge and no jury

You have my compassion

My strength when you're weak

I will never condemn you

it's your healing I seek

To see you take

your battered heart

bandage it up

and make a fresh start

While it heals

you must guard it well

for you know what happened

when last you fell

Keep strong, stay true

You will find love again

Until then I am with you

As always,

Your friend
