Wytter Report post Posted November 28, 2004 (edited) Here's a pic of the new minimap... http://bjorn_mm.users.whitehat.dk/elc_patc...new_minimap.jpg Looks a tad better than the old one I'd say :-) In order to use it, create a directory called art in your EL folder and put the following files in there: http://bjorn_mm.users.whitehat.dk/elc_patches/water.bmp http://bjorn_mm.users.whitehat.dk/elc_patches/mountain.bmp This is just temporary untill Roja comes up with some nicer tiles/textures for those 2 (mountain == 255) :-) Edited November 28, 2004 by Wytter
Wytter Report post Posted November 28, 2004 Since MoonShadow couldn't compile it himself, I made a windows build: http://bjorn_mm.users.whitehat.dk/elc_patches/mapedit.exe
Ravenod Report post Posted November 29, 2004 And for people having that "liquid grass" effect (like I had) when looking at the map editor in regular mode...do this for a quick fix... COPY water2.bmp from the textures folder into the tiles folder. Then rename water2.bmp to tile0.bmp All done ( p.s. It is a zero, not an o )
MoonShadow Report post Posted December 2, 2004 I'm having problems with the new minimap. When i want to move to some area and i just click on the map then nothing happens. Sometimes it works and the camera jumps to the place where i want to go but sometimes it is just staying the same as it was before. *keeps clicking* =(
Wytter Report post Posted December 2, 2004 Will fix it later today :-)

Wytter Report post Posted December 2, 2004 You can already... Set the tool to be tile, then select the tile you want, go to minimap mode and rightclick
Hazor Report post Posted December 2, 2004 (edited) It could also show your current position with an X or something, if you want that? I'd love that, myself.. Please do that. But, make it able to be toggled in your suggested editor.ini, or with a button somewhere in the editor.. Edited December 2, 2004 by Hazor
Wytter Report post Posted December 2, 2004 mmm, was thinking of that myself...

Ravenod Report post Posted December 6, 2004 Make sure you have the folder art in your main el folder And make sure that both the above .bmp's are spelled correctly and in that folder.
Wytter Report post Posted December 7, 2004 Yes, that is probably the cause of the error - re-read this : In order to use it, create a directory called art in your EL folder and put the following files in there: http://bjorn_mm.users.whitehat.dk/elc_patches/water.bmp http://bjorn_mm.users.whitehat.dk/elc_patches/mountain.bmp
Buuhan1 Report post Posted December 7, 2004 (edited) yep, that fixed it alright edit: big problem, this started before i put the mountain and water and art folder thing and it is still doing it, when i try to open a map, in my map el directory and/or even the map directory the editor crashes and sends no errors Edited December 7, 2004 by Buuhan1
Ravenod Report post Posted December 7, 2004 Yea, it's still got some bugs. Like randomly crashing when you are placing heightmaps with in overhead mode. But I would say it only crashes on me about 1 time for every hour I work, so it's bearable, just remember to save every few minutes.
Wytter Report post Posted December 7, 2004 (edited) Buuhan1 - is it a costum map you've made? If so, send it to me and I'll fix it. If not. which map generates this error? Ravenod - I'll try look into it, didn't notice it the last time I worked on it, but I won't say it's not happening. Want an auto-save feature? Edited December 7, 2004 by Wytter
Ravenod Report post Posted December 7, 2004 I personally don't want an auto-save, because there are times when I'm 'Experimenting', and that would suck. But, I'm not the majority either
