  1. Artificer broken?

I too thank you for agreeing to refund the 7 PP that people spent on this perk. As some others have indicated, if I'd known it was only 30% I would never have spent 7 PP on it. Thank you again for the way you've handled this.
  2. Artificer broken?

Considering that the perk was essentially taken under false pretenses I think many of us would see that as more than fair repayment.
  3. Artificer broken?

How about giving people that have already taken it a chance to get the PP spent on it back without a reset. All documentation that I've seen indicates it doubles it. CelticLady even stated as much in her post that you simply responded to with: As others have stated the encyclopedia states it doubles it as does the wraith. Based on your own statements, this is not in fact what the perk does. Is there a way that the perk could be removed from those that opt to have it remove and the 7 pp given back to them? Perhaps remove the perk and over their next 7 OA they get 2 PP instead of the normal 1?
  4. Artificer broken?

I am aware of how the perk is supposed to work and that it only doubles the chance. The problem I (and others) are perceiving is that we made more enriched essences or special items (higher ratio) without the perk than we have after taking the perk. The law of averages dictates that this shouldn't happen. Is there any evidence that we as players can provide to help illustrate our case?
  5. Freya bot problem

    The later.
  6. Freya bot problem

I always try to type the full name when I PM someone. If someone can't remember the full name of the person they are trying to PM, do they really need to be PMing them? There is after all the chat log.
  7. Trades for more than 2 items fail?

While I did fail to mention it, I did check that too. At the time of the above report, the bot had over 5k available emu. The trade consisted of 2 cloaks (Monster Magnetism and Excavator) and 1 Matter Essence. There were more than enough slots and more than sufficient EMU available.
  8. Freya bot problem

What about an opt out option? Where someone that gets a lot of completion messages can opt out of the auto completion matching? Something like the privacy option. That way the only way they would get messages is if their full name was typed. Just an idea.
  9. Freya bot problem

Freya for one, no longer monitors any public channel for her name. I found it annoying when I first put her on the server. Now that I have rewritten her code, I've removed that functionality. As for the other suggestions about naming. You have to keep in mind that all bots were created first as normal characters before becoming or being declared a bot.
  10. Mine Store Bots

I've been thinking about buying 4 self leveled bots that would be positioned throughout the land in various mines. These bots would sell basic supplies for the miners, such as: Pick Axes, Leather Gloves (if in sulphur mine), Health Essence, and possibly food. They would of course not be position in a location that would allow them to harvest any resources. Additionally, they would not be able to carry a huge amount of any of these items as they would be self leveled bots and the mining items don't stack anyway. I wanted to bounce the idea off folks here before putting too much time into it.
  11. Mine Store Bots

I fail to see how this is germane to the discussion of this thread, which was originally about getting a Mine Store Bot and now about having been told it was not feasible and would not be allowed only to see another user receive authorization for the very same thing.
  12. Mine Store Bots

No, there is zero difference between the capabilities I proposed and those I see Agneum possessing. Entropy never cited this as a reason for denying my original request, and Agneum's current location is almost exactly where I proposed my first mine store bot be located. I too wanted to support the game and the players. I saw it as a business opportunity for my character and a means of helping my fellow players. I'll take your word that is how things happened. Please accept my apology. However, I do ask if you can at least see how this looks to an outsider that was denied the very same thing you received approval for. I really don't see any difference between what Agneum is capable of and what I originally proposed.
  13. Mine Store Bots

I've noticed a major difference. The amount of money spent on the bot. However, non of Entropy's responses indicated that more money would change the answer. Nor, does anything in the bot rules/guidelines that are posted in this forum. The only response from Entropy that I receive that indicated any possibility of getting the bot approved was removal from the mine. Looks like Agneum carries food and HE just as I was proposing. Along with other things. About the only thing it doesn't appear to be carrying that I proposed were pickaxes and gloves, and there is no indication that this was a required change for Agneum being approved.
  14. Mine Store Bots

I asked here as this was the bot forum, where as I understood it, questions about bots and proposed bots should first be aired. The overwhelming response was negative, and you even indicated that the idea was a "no-go". I did ask Entropy, and got the following response This seems completely contrary to what is now happening. Heck, the current bot's position is almost exactly where I was planning to locate my bot.
  15. Trade bot owners : Lets work together to rescue the market.

Count me in on the idea. Although I do still think that there need to be other in game changes to fully correct the economy.
  16. Crashed?

    Server is up.
  17. Crashed?

Traces are making it to the server now.

  19. OS X client specific bugs and To Do

Just grabbed the new version (1201a) and while it appears to play fine on the current server, the graphics appear to be off. Specifically the weapons and shields appear to be shifted.
  20. Linux test - executables ONLY

el.x86.linux.portable.bin seems to work here, but the el.x86.linux.bin segfaults with the following backtrace: Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. 21. Test server 3

Is the test server down? I don't seem to be able to connect to it.
  22. Test server 3

And yet it appears even when it's not true (based on the information on both clients). Thus, preventing either party from trading. Edit: Just did some further testing of the trade issue. Seems that both parties must be carrying less than the lowest max EMU between them. That is if there is one character that can carry 400 trading with one that can carry 100, then both must have no more than 100 EMU actively on them. If the player with a 400 max has 101 on him he can not trade. With this in mind how will bots be able to trade with anyone? No one will have their carry cap.
  23. OS X client specific bugs and To Do

Hmmm, don't recall having changed the settings in there, but that was indeed it... Sorry for the mistake.
  24. OS X client specific bugs and To Do

Not "bugs" per-say, but I noticed that the combat damage and experience indicators are completely different on the Mac client than they are under Linux. For the combat damage, it's just a big red number in the creature or character's chest. For the experience, there doesn't seem to be any indication near the character, I have to check the progress bars to see that harvesting experience is being earned. Is this a limitation with the mac client or due to some video limitation?
  25. [patch] side stats bars

    Found what appears to be a bug with the patch. All the skills but Alchemy appear to be updating just fine. However, the Alchemy bar does not appear to be moving at all. I just got an Alchemy level and the bar under it on the side still indicates I'm only about 20% through the level. This also appears to be the same as the bar for Harvest. Yep, checking the patch confirms it: + //ALCHEMY + if (++stat == watch_this_stat) + glColor3f(0.77f, 0.57f, 0.39f); + else + glColor3f(1.0f,1.0f,1.0f); + snprintf(str,sizeof(str),"%-3s %3i",attributes.alchemy_skill.shortname,your_info.alchemy_skill.base); + draw_string_small(x, y, str, 1); + if (show_statsbars_in_hud) + { + y+=14; + baselev = your_info.harvesting_skill.base; + cur_exp = your_info.harvesting_exp; + len = 54-54.0f/(float)((float)(exp_lev[baselev+1]-exp_lev[baselev])/(float)(exp_lev[baselev+1]-cur_exp)); + draw_side_stats_bar(x,y,len,0.1f,0.4f,0.1f); + y+=4; + } + else + { + y+=18; + }
