  1. Change Instance Cooldowns

Can we stick on subject of cooldowns, please. But he does have a point about invasion tokens. I completely agree with Cher as well.
  2. Gold for advertising

I'm pretty sure you mean all the active players who already spend tonnes on shop. those that rarely buy from shop, or those that are left in lower brackets wont. Cheap rostos would be blessing, though i doubt that'll happen again, since the entire games populance mindset has evolved, and is different to thtat of years past. I voted no, btw.
  3. Fight Club!

I thought you still had that bot in MM lol. It just sounded like a lot of work for you ;p
  4. Invance Initiator

Im in favour of 6-15 men groups, but have done 4060/6080 groups with 4/5 people. Our team, iirc, was Longpig, in augs and chain, me in RD and without my mirror, Atomos in steel (iirc) and Max_calea in iron plate mail. So we had 2 good fighters, me in good armour and long shooting from the gate. And we finished with buckets of time because we communicate, which is all you need to win an invance, along with some HEs and SRs. And im undercap, and i can kill everything in 6080 and some of the 80100 mobs. And I'm by no way a great fighter. Practicably everybody i know who i originally did invances with me in about twice as good. You also contradict yourself. increase required, but have a scaled invance. One forces people to go in bigger groups, which afaik, happens in higher ranges (if im wrong, hey, im 4060. I wont be accurate) and kills 4060/6080. Scaled invasions will be godsend for those wanting to quickly run through invance with small team. Oppisites. As for asking without teams... most of the ones i partook in or organised, i demanded 6 people to be willing. And iirc, i only remember a few being announced with less than 5 who said they could go, mostly due to one guy being offchannel, asking when he fancied, and never went. Admittedly low number invances occur due to time between asking and them occuring, but you always have to allow for the mods RL's. They're already pretty generous with the ammount they give, unless the range is being nuisance. (im not just reffering to the invance block blanket that was put on 120s, we got ignored for several times for being inorganised and spamming).
  5. Fight Club!

Also, if your doing one PK event per week, why not try and make a small team and rotate the major duties between them per week. I remember stressing out when trying to run my own event, and it will take up alot of your time if your taking on the duties for an event every week. It would also be cool if we could donate to your MM bot anything we want to give as a prize.
  6. Change Instance Cooldowns

Yes. Thats a really fair time, and would prevent farming as much as it is atm (wont be then end all to farming) and be fair on us newbie instancers. and i really understand what your saying about fun and mobs for your range but i did ask at start to stay on topic. Instances do need more varietry per level, and balancing across the board, but i kind of wanted to keep on topic of cooldown.

  9. Fight Club!

erm...what GMT time is tennesse in? just so i (and others) can convert time
  10. **** guild is recruiting

OK. . I can probably make forum this weekend (probably). and maybe next time i log on alt, ill take him over.
  11. Fight Club!

I tried to get mod to help mine, but happilly went off without a hitch. I'd love to partake in event, or help you with running it, though i only ran one event so far. So if you think i could help, i'd love to. Where's PDA1 for those who are dumb to abreviations? or is that in your brand spanking new guild map?
  12. **** guild is recruiting

God, map sounds epic. I'm curious whether you accept alts, maybe i could move my tank experiment there? As for forums, i could set you up one, similiar to bears (bearhug.forumcircle.com) free hosting etc., and hand the admin account over to you, with some of the admin info i posted on BEARs mod subforum. Just if you want to use forumcircle, as its nice and easy to learn, with lots of things you can do from it phpBB control panel.
  13. Please

Luna...I went over what to do ingame with you, and its something you should take up between you and Aislinn/radu, probably best Aislinn, since she dealt with the original issue. PM me in game if you want me to go over it again, things like this dont need a post on forums, just forum PM (i know, you lost your forum account pw) or ingame PM. Just talk to Aislinn, if you need help, i can assist you. And since it was recent, no alt probably will hold up. I know, sorry....
  14. Invance Initiator

Too be honest, if itsd obvious what restricts people from getting invances: Spamming Mod, Demanding, Being extremely unorganised and just being annoying in general. Easy way to enhance your chance of invancing is to avoid doing them, or attempt to. You also have mods who can run capped invasions. Also the blessing of having only couple mods able to launch these makes it more organised, and makes modding simpler for those who dont have to worry about which range has just gone, which havent, who has asked... also: "But if lower range going bonkers no problem". I had a good laugh at that. I mean a proper good laugh. Lower level invasions can be done with fewer people, when we have thse people. And its much more fun when we're all in leather/iron than the few in dragon sets.
  15. To be honest lack of newbie creates WAY bigger issues than NMTs. Effectively brings on the death of the game. Anyway, i agree with Wizzy, attack those issues and oh so many more before going onto the nmt debate. And if you know about the much more pressing needs, why didnt you suggest a fix for them in a thread instead of suggesting a solution to a problem that isnt really that pressing at the moment?
  16. When you were a nub

I just joined EL via my dad (in fact i only chose my name, not even my race or look) and ended up just roaming IP and WS. My favourite memory was fighting a deer naked with a bone when at level 8 while on a/d pots with 3 medium (or high levels from my point of view) player watching me eventually kill the deer only on minor heal pots, with 7 hp to go. Thats what kept me, along with the community (mostly the now practically extinct MaGE guild, mostly Love42). I also stayed, just wanting to hit manu level to make fur clothes when they were new But anyway, newbies are quitting for a S***load of reasons, which i have outlined below. From the newbies (those i met on 4060 channel and on IP) i have a few reasons why people quit: People who quit in first hour to day: not knowing controls or not being properly engaged with other players or action in the opening minutes. The initial experience is "boring". So why not make an opening that engaging, like RuneScape. At the start, their only experience of community is channel 1, not like when most of us started, where people were at beam. Why not give benifits to those who spend some time at beam, helping, advising, chatting and healing newbies? And those from 4060: Scams/Lures/etc. Last year i saw a whole guild/family quit due to this and many more. Why not up the non scam limit to level 60, due to haidirs etc, newbies level too quickly for the 20 cap to be at all effective. Or why not just ban scamming altogether, and go the way of all other successful MMOs. Lack of content for lower levels. We have invance at level 40, which is continually less frequent, and before that, nothing to engage the lower levels interest. Why not add a lower level Exclusive, challenge, which draws on several different players of under 40/50/60 level cap. Over Powered Invasions for our caps. Admittedly, all part radus NC invasion for under 40s was well done. But apart from the first Selain Invasion and Maxines Invasions, i haven't really seen a well balanced Invasion that rich people or special builds can complete in the <60 range. Why not ask what ranges are capable of? Maxine did that and it was one of the best invasions are caps got? Making alts in range is all well and good, but you have knowledge and skill which the real newbies don't. A Feeling that the game is based around the top caps and character buyers. I have met a few people who wonder why lower levels dont seem to be considered as important as top cappers. And i know this will annoy people, but its the truth. There are some Mods who try very hard to keep things balanced, and to encourage newbies. Why not give newbies as varied and entertaining selection of pass times as high levels? Being degraded by high levels. If we don't the tactics for tanking, ranging or any such tactics and try to help people, we get ridiculed for it, and then we see the community in a bad light. TREAT NEWBIES NICELY! Some do, but more need to allow for innocent lack of knowledge. PK. We're not allowed to enter PK effectively, unless we get to know the high levels or go do it in a guildmap. Too many people have the opinion newbies should stay out of PK, and anybody who wants to try PK is screwed over, and probably not going to do it when they hit a high level. Why not implement a way where newbs cant be attacked by people 2x time their level. Its ridiculous, and screws you who complain about having 'No PK'. You killed it. Rules. They dont agree with some rules, primarily multi play, and i have no idea of a fix Earning GC. At low levels its an endless slog of harvestin and/or mixing for them to earn the gc to buy half decent kit. How will that attract new players? Make and easy way for newbies to initially make GC, but make it inadequate for higher levels. Adult Language. We have alot of people using tonnes of swears, casual racism, sexism, homophobia and religious insults. You kill off the entire attraction for parents sharing the game with their children, and people offended by the language. Ban those who do any racism, etc. and establish a "curse" channel for being the only area for cursing. Feeling that the admins only really concerned in keeping high levels. Yeah, this tends to come in when there is no action after a high level scammed a newbie for something thats alot for the newbie, but nothing to the scammer. Also happens with the other reasons. If you fix most of the other issues outlined, then this will disolve. Sorry if it hurts the mods feeling, since it isnt actually your fault, its just what they tend to complain about when no action is taken. Game feel unbalanced. good weapons are cheaper than bad weapons, NPC prices dont stay in line with ings prices.... It generally gives some people the feeling of a half baked cake, especially alongside quite alot of other MMOs. Why not balance the game, or at least the really obvious stuff. These are all issues ive seen people quit for. quite alot are easily ammedable, either by players or by developers. I know some of you will say people haven't quit on these reasons, but you'll be wrong. Easily scamming is the biggest reason for people quitting, and thats tied with the lack of anything interesting to do as a newbie. I also recognise that their are people in the community who go out of the way to help those, and do some of the fixes i outlined, . and i am happy with those who help make the area more newbie friendly. But the part of the community that is less kind generally thrashes most of their efforts. The attitude of "well thats a lesson that you learned, your experience will make you wiser in the future" doesnt help them get over it. Just hold us newbs in the same regards you would hold the high levels. Zathras - cutting of high levels and low levels doesnt always work. Basically, you should just encourage them, and tell them not to worry about high level stuff untill they're high levels. Its often funner having the low levels stuff, and gradually working up through the grades. I actually slightly regret getting RD armour at such a low level...their isnt anything really to aim for anymore. I was much happier when i had iron plate, mirror cape, CoL, MoL and SoP. That was my favourite stuff, and was the most entertaining way i played in my entire EL experience. All the proppsed additions roja done for next client update look to make EL alot nicer looking, might get new players, if we have more supourt via gameplay. Also EL should advertise more. Why not buy ad space in linux mags? Try and slip ads into Niche mags that might have a reader base that would fit in with the player base? So far i haven't really see any ads for EL anywhere. Can't expect an awful lot to come across us accidently, you need to actively pursue players.
  17. <Essay/ Text Wall Alert> There are much better ways to gain newbs than lower the price on one object, especially one needed after several months of casual play. NMT wont be a major factor, as most newbs quit before that due to other issues in game, that are much more of a factor to lower levels than what is a high level piece of equipment. Going on that this will make any difference to recruiting newbies to the game is just fooling yourself, as this item only applies to level 70s+ at the earliest. And since 70% of new players quit before then due to nothing interesting to do at low levels, grinding, being scammed and game flaws, i don't really see you all talking about these issues, but going on that nmts dropping in price will help us get more newbs. I can only see this as a benifit to your alts, and the tiny amount of fighters/combat builds left under level 80/90. As for NMTs going out of game, theirs no easy way to do it, and if there was, it will most likely unbalance things further against Lower-medium level players. I still persist that i like the perks concept, but in line with the nmt, it will be basically doable by those who can afford to replace their armours. As for newbies not buying NMTs; I know that mostly alts buy NMTs without buying perk first, as making money as a newbie is difficult without being bored out of your mind. Instances arent available to those who haven't got the NMT yet, and that is the only truely entertaining money making way for low/mid level players. Also, a few players, including myself, always tell (other) newbies to buy perk, as its much more useful for the type of builds new players have right now, which dont really involve the need of every single pick point. For a newbie, 7 pps is WAAAAAY cheaper than 350k-500k. And when they get to the point that cloak might good idea, they see price of NMT removal, and just think F**k that, not worth it. just looked through those links of CherUTs, and though its a little off topic, i still think its connected enough to warrant posting. No new players have really got into PK proper, without buying a char. I've tried, but i basically watch or muck about, friend wanted to, but NH got him. It wasnt even as bad as it is now last year, but it keeps getting worse. Why is PK dead; Your attitudes killed it. BroD weapon is griefer weapon, to attract the people that other games ban. If you got rid of it, NMT turned breakable would be more easily welcomed i'd say, and price would probably remain the same for the first we bit, or drop, and increase a little bit up to 400-500k i'd say, through the balance of break/farming, though itd probably be around 250-400k after about a year. So, for the record; I'm +1 for perk, as long as it is slightly cheaper, or say an optional advantage to a quest. If you got rid of BroD, id say NMTs would be more likely to be welcomed as breakable as compensation Its not a huge factor to keeping newbie players intially No real easy way to remove NMT Now, i know people are going to say im wrong, its been tried before, etc. all the usual stuff. But at the moment radu is losing players to OL, no newbies are coming in, and if he wants to keep the game going for another decade, he needs to finally change to game attract new players, keep old players and not annoy half his low to medium-high level players. This is the BEST time to do radical changes, since as soon as the trickle of newbie players ends, the game is doomed. And its allready on it way. For Those of you who think im going off topic: So, yeah, it goes a little off topic, but changing NMT/BroD would be good start to making the game more attractive, since they both effect most EL players at least once in their entire EL experience. NMT effects those as being an additional burden when they get higher level items at mid 70s, and the BroD screws everybody who is mixer/harver/low level. This is my opinion, is connected to the threads topic, even if mentions the concern of the BroD, as i do say above, removing the BroD would mean alot of people would except the breakable nmt, with a low break chance as more than a reasonable pay off for removing this item.
  18. Their aren't any/many new players coming into game, tbh, except alts. And i haven't really ever seen farming on feros/fluffies when i was around some of the popular spawns. I don't see the lower price for newbies to be a really great argument, since one of the major issues are we dont have many genuine newbies about. I can list about 10 in the last few months that i spoke to, and 2 that are active at the moment. Anyway, i like the quest idea, but maybe make it require some roleplaying and a dynamic plots (aka npcs will react differently to you depending on order you speak to them) and take away the nmt, unless that gives a second similiar perk that stacks on the last one. Miiks - NMT perk is over expensive, and moving cloaks price up to match perk will generally make them the cloak equivalent of thermy's - a rich persons play thing.
  19. Nexus potions

Can i point out, i spent more on steel helm than that, just getting ings, with some being bought at half price, and at least 27 can make a NMW at recommended level. And those were only examples i could think of, off the top of my head. I just think since we have long and medium term options, and short term is not a bad idea, as long as the other means still have uses. I personally wouldn't use potions much, but probably would use them to see if a nexus i plan on buying is worth the investement prior to doing so and making the odd item above my nexus limits. Still, the idea needs to be refined, so that the price warrants the time, but the time, and objects properties dont make the other methods less desirable. Basically, if implemented, it should be similiar to an expensive invis pot, not stackable, heavy and short term, but have a price that makes item justifiable.
  20. Sorry they quit before they get anywhere close to that level. If you want to remove capes from game, try and get radu to trade em out of game, for say shop items of equal or lower price. Simples!
  21. Nexus potions

Yes. But I doubt any of the TRUE pkers will use these, or many of them at least. If their pure PK/fighter then they might have HoS/Hellspawn, so inorganic nexus pots will be useless for them. And give me tai pot 40k one way, 80k to return it. Say, if i wanted to make NMW, i could put up my mag nexus and arti for minute. thats well over 100k saving. Or, for example, i want steel helm made. My mixer had well over the level to do so, but didnt have the required nexus. This would have saved me several hours of time, and ofc, the mixer could have used the rest of the minute to make some more desirables. Long term, hydro bought are still worthwhile, medium term, nexus transfers are best. This is a (very) short term solution to not having a required nexus.
  22. Nexus potions

I was just saying that the pots wont make a huge difference to those who already have full nexus. I think you misinterpretated what i was trying to say. The nexus potions will help the medium-high level players. And never said anything about pot to take advantage away, or meant to say that anyway. To aravinth - 1 min is well to short, but 3-5 mins would be long enough for a decent amount, if not excellent. Tbh i see these pots mostly being used for the tutorials, and by mixers trying to make a certain object just mildly out of their nexus reach.
  23. Well yes, but it'd be a start. And tbh, half the games items dont make sense on pricing, with smeg items more expensive than better ones. The whole weapon/armour/capes/etc. system should be balanced, then a more fitting way of reducing NMTs would make sense. But tbh, the game has much more significant changes that should be made.
  24. Nexus potions

Yes, but buying permanent nexus is hugely expensive, transfer stones are pretty decently expensive, and too expensive if you just want to make, say 1-10 items of a sort. But if its 15k potion, it should last at lest 5 minutes, like a God blessing, this means 3k per minute of extra nexus. If you want to add this, why not make it mixable with Transfer stones, say 1 transfer stone, 5 empty vials and a serpent stone = 5 Nexus Potions, with a varying factor for each type, say an iron axe for arti, 5 saws for inorganic, ring of power for magic nexus, PW stone for animal. But human should definitely not be included. It should also be only mixable by people with 6/6/10 in magic/artificial/human nexus's EDIT: Raistlinn posted before i did You spent lots of time on hydro, its still better than buying the pots. They will be expensive and temporary, and imo, should be very hard to make WITHOUT lots of nexus's. Anyway those with the nexus are at the advantage of being able to mix what ever they like without the restriction of the rest of the game, and if my idea is taken, it means you make money by selling the nexus pots And this helps those who aren't spending ludicrous time on EL. The vast majority of EL wont ever get full nexus's, and those that do will allways be at an advantage thos temporary nexus increase techniques such as transfer stones/nexus potions.
  25. Weapon of Choice

Jagged saber, but i actually liked my EC. And i like my halberd, which is basically a two handed OS. Both have their uses, but i tend to find OS/halberd is only great if the mob is same-lower level than you, preferably lower, and JS is better for pretty much anything mildly above you, cutty for anything still above you.
