Normally I refrain to post about other peoples posts, and I apologize beforehand if I step out of line, but Mr. Joe Butler, could you please be a man of your word and keep to your promise as made on page 1 and stop attacking other players thoughts. We know your opinion and vision by now, we know that you don’t understand the perk, or this poll, the side effect of it which refrains players to start or finish the quest, the challenges players have who have finished the quest and the suggestions what the solutions to this side effect could possibly be. It is nothing personal and I regard you highly, I detest however getting a valid discussion and opinion poll thread ruined by hackling and attacking for attacking’s sake. second person to call me a Mr. and then an alias. I would like to say im not attacking for attacking sake, im also curious how you regard me highly since i have no goddamn idea who you are . Afaik, im varying my suggestions at least slightly every post, and im pretty sure if i step properly out of line ill get slapped by a mod or banned. Right now im merely giving my critisms of the perk in a somewhat cynical put partially constructive manner. Also if i made a promise on the first page, i apolgies for breaking it, but i post most days quite alot in 3 "major" forums and about 5 more minor forums, so in the 50-100 odd posts i do in a week, i probably forgot that one.

  3. Just remove CoS tbh, afaik no other school quest gives such a distinct advantage. Or if you want to fix CoS fix all the perks, cause so many give advantages out of proportion to each other that the whole system is broken. Poll still biased as hell to advantages of the pr0s instead of whats best for game _o/\o/\o_

    What is this i dont even... Guy who you say was a scammer was an oppurtunist. This really isnt worth a disputes lol. Sounds like a personal between Susje/Binsy/scammerx so why take to forums? ban i guy with a legion of bots from your bot... anybody else see how futile and ineffective this is (compared to the still very futile matter of banning anybody from bot, soo sooo easy to circumvent lol.) Silent contracts are basically a foundation for misunderstanding as there is no formal contract, so pointless point. =Pointless thread
  5. You use indicators everyday, not everybody uses them this poll is incredibly biased. It will mostly be those biased by the benifits so they wont think about whats best for the game instead of themselves. Adding more perks adds more unbalance = more problems to fix... vicious circle Point was basic game design.
  6. Favourites personally are 90s console/PC games because they just started 3D and some of these ideas lingering for 20-40 years just exploded. Tbh Mid-Late 90's and early-mid 80's are generally the best eras for game (nowadays their either pisseasy, same old cash crop FPS's or those hardcore, great classic style games. Probably didnt hear about it because its some japanese piece of mania thats so odd that it stands out spectaculary in pretty much everything. Might find some nice games in the magazine i read. I might need to log in to join LSD, supply it to teh low levels.

  9. Maxine. What you want is all quest perks to be basically permanent buffs to the char with no down side. This doesnt happen in most game because that ruins balance, with buffs with no downsides having time limits or permanent ones always having a down side. Even flashgames manage this, so hows it irrelevant for an MMO? Considering 80%+ of quests in EL are done simply for the reward and the quest effectively being an annoyance in alot of people view, people are just stockpiling the benifits and there's no prevention helping to widen gap between nolifers, 10 year players and money buyers against the casual, one or two year playing players.And again i can connect this to lack of competitiveness. See how i can connect so many fatal flaws together? Your speaking like his point is null and void. It has some relevance, and some consideration should be given to it. Your assuming everybody is in that cookiecutter build or stance, and obviously there are outliners you need to consider on. The stones/essies would be a bigger factor if the chances of the good ones hadn't been nerfed for increased shop sales... For those w/o credit card or masses on ingame gold it probably counts as a small factor atleast. And tbh harvester meds are just a waste of GC for anything but increased harv exp on events. Also i dont like the fact people are being patronising to others who play the game like Jim/PaulB for their own opinions if they dont conform to yours. Why have a poll if you attack them. (I know im kind of attacking, but its the principle of ignoring the glaring and focusing on making your ingame life even easier for high levels that is infuriating me)

  12. I know Maxine/Zicus. tbh you two and Mythos are the only 3 people i actually care for the opinion of who've posted here. But little effects should be left till the basics are dealt with; would you start adding the little details in a painting before you did the outline, sky, ground and main features? no. Adding more small pieces before the underlining basics just leads to redoing things. And i think red astro is nice, i liked harving etc, but tbh i still think that redoing a negative piece of one perk its worth looking at some other perks to deal with at the same time and (at least keep your mind on) to overall issue. Its just food for thought. And i'll stop posting here again, i see my arguments still fall on deaf ears like the last 2 years. EDIT: Just side note, do you mods ever use these warning points, cause you've already locked my forum account once w/o warning, i just want to know.
  13. I dont think special effects such as those given by pots and spells are dealt with in the same way as food (at least in EL). This probably would work on anything like SR/BRs/etc. but i doubt you can copypasta that code.

    Don't mix on bag maybe? or if its group job, why not just make a protective ring (8 tiles around a guy, bag by wall requires only 5-6 people. Not that i condone this smeg.

    No real solution without wiping entire economy with a universal sto wipe and fix drops/shop to make sure everything comes to an equal value (no more cash crop $$ purchases like haidir passes that are 10k more profitable to a $ than rostos), and monitor it carefully encouraging a stable market without inflation/deflation, and countering buy ups. etc.
  16. Well, yeah. It's more a carry over from me being in the other server(s), but the same results apply here, even if its different objects/maps. Same c/d system *sighs* guess PK still dead with just occasional standing in KF with flits of MAD vs LOM! skirmishes and @@6 Channel PK?

    Well, this could all be manipulated if, someone (some great person) bought all the relevant articles ingame and sold at a loss. The problem is a doubt anyone will do that, and its the only way for things being sold in the shop because im 100% certain radu will never make them sold by an npc.

Not really off topic, if you addressed some other issues, they combine and can nullify other problems. every change has a consequence on every other aspect of the game, and leads on to a domino effect. Best way to solve details like these are to combat issues further up the stream. Try and keep the source clean instead of cleaning up the filth 5 miles down the river. It honestly makes no difference to me if you had harved 1 billion fruit tbh. If such a problem would cause players to quit, or irritates them such a degree then why do a small band aid fix on one specific solution, such as child of stars? why not try and fix the entirity of the problem rather than this one slice, which will only effect the high level manuers and leave the lower levels and those who dont do manu with the same old problems your trying to get out of. This self help of higher levels discrediting any thoughts of newbies, or grossly thinking in the wrong manner continues to alienate them and make sure you dont have any more coming in. as older players leave, you get a chokehold population which is in the middle that gradually decreases, killing the game. This has been something that has been worrying me for, what, the last 2 years, and when i tried to point it out, i was ignored, my fears came true and you have no newbs. And threads like these basically wanting to just fix something for the miniority and not the majority really irritate me, as it shows none of you are capable of seeing whats happening. You can shrug that doomsday prophecy off if you like, but just think how much better the game would be if you did changes that made things better for the discontented many and not just the few.
  19. At the moment, child of stars cancels negative harvesting astro. Negative harvesting astrology means less chance for random harvesting events. When you have less random harvesting events, you are less likely to break a harvesting medallion. When you have positive harvesting astrology, mother nature grants you more harvesting events and you are more likely to break a harvester medallion. I think Viper knew that, i think he's trying to point out the issue of the phrasing as its not giving a firm, easily understood option, and can therefore cause confused votes and render the poll inconclusive and effectively useless.
  20. I disagree, JoeButler. It's not a tiny thing to some of us who have broken hundreds of harvester medallions. Why the hell do you spend hundreds on harvesters? I had dedicated harvester, made no difference to me. You just buying a plusibo and compared to the fact that half the great swords are useless, issues with armour balancing, magic balancing, attri balancing, summoning balancing, mob balancing, ranging balancing, exp balancing, harvesting spots being spread out over more areas to prevent chokeholds, balancing invances, instances, fixing economy, keeping newbies, keeping old players... I think they are bigger. I mean colossal. I was talking in relevant sizes.

I would say 2-3 seconds, 1 is same as in TD (iirc) and i still get the same result. hardly going to make a difference like that. also more offtopic things in pretty much every thread, your taking it far too personally imo, and i think he found it funny because it was hardly going to be your leg muscles causing these issues.

    You only have a small community, so you're only going to get a limited response of active/no active people over a certain time frame, so no point giving up explanation??? this is about as usefull as someone asking: wheres the bathroom "In a building" You've done something, you might be right. But it helps not at all.
  24. That is the most spectacularly useless piece of information i've ever seen. Range has a defence - Point Defence Brod has a defence - cotu Magic has a defence - MI Magic Swords have a defence - Drag armours Summoning has a defence - Smite Rings have a defence - Cotu Many of those are completely failsafe defences (which isnt ideal) but engineering has fck all defence, and is OP. For the sake of (shitty) balance you need to add a defence, or better yet, balance all the defences to a point where they're effective but not complete walls against them (something like point defence with a good working chance). Got no balance in pk strategies, its just a cookie cutter mold and you wonder why its dead. Its whoever pays for the most OP shit, and mines are near the top of the list.
