  1. I know that we have spells that already convey heat/cold/magic resistance. I would like to propose similar potions. Not all potion masters have uber high magic to cast the new spells, similar to young players. Each would give a 1-2 minute resistance or possibly immunity.

    Potion of Ice: (heat resistance)

. vial, water ess, gypsum, blue quartz

    Potion of Fire: (cold resistance)

. vial, fire ess, red quartz

    Potion of Lead: (radiation resistance)

. vial, earth ess, white quartz

Potion of Magic Resistance: (magic resistance, duh)

. vial, air ess, white quartz

Potion of Ohm: (all 4 resistance)

. vial, water, earth, air, fire, white, red, blue quartz

. or perhaps the 4 pots + a binding stone.

I think these would add an interesting element to skill development, and also strategy on some maps. It would be nice to see an actual first use for earth essence (and swampcandles), an additional use for air ess, and some of the new ores like gypsum can come into play. If someone can come up with a name for the magic resistance pot other than what I wrote, please do.

For those who would complain about already having spells for these, please consider that we have spells for truesight and invisibility, and the potions for them as well

  2. How many suns and moons does Draia have anyway? I forget. Trollson is correct that the positions can be very deterministic and do not need much serverside other than the clock. I think that the day and month would be handy for moons as we could use them for celestrial events, such as an eclipse formenting one of Mortos' invasions.

  3. run a "make -f Makefile.WHATEVER clean" first. All the *.o files are being added to your diff file causing it to bloat up. Then you can "diff -Naur elc elcbanners > file.diff"

Also, you should probably have your banner codebase in a different dirctory for sanity sake (like how I put elcbanners above).

  4. Just a note to all the fighters complaining about the vials costing too much / having to go buy them. Please remember that you campaigned/complained for quite a while to get monsters to drop more gc. By my calculations you should have plenty of gc to afford your pots and essences (I certainly do now). So please do not complain about prices.

  5. I dislike the new remote heal spell for the following reasons:

. takes 3x the essenses for less than 3x the healing (at lvl 39)

. no increase in XP given (which I guess is expected)

. the total of 6 essies is a rather steep investment for newbies getting started with the second available spell, perhaps if it was just 2x instead?

This negatively effects all the new hopeful mages by making healing at IP a waste of time. Cost of HE and ME with cooldown and now 3x the ingreds. I do not need to remote heal at my level, but I feel sorry for the people just starting.

On the other hand, I really like the fact that the amount healed is proportional to your level. It makes sense and is a very good incentive to raise your levels to help heal others who are training.

  6. Considering the number of players I know who cannot survive without their coffee, I propose a caffeine pot. It gives you 50 food like the feasting pot, but gives you the shakes and increases the chance of manu failure by 5-10% in exchange for a faster cooldown. I have not gone through the chemical analysis of all the new herbs/plants, but perhaps one has historically been used as a stimulant.

Sorry if something like this has been proposed. The only thing somewhat similar that I could find was here

  7. I cannot find the original reference that someone else posted, but I noticed that some fences show up as harvestable (get the pickaxe) but you cannot actually harvest them. I know this was true for the fencing in the DraSyn temple. Anyway, it seems that the offending object is ./3dobjects/structures/fence_iron1.e3d It is being flagged as harvable. The following maps show this issue. NOTE you need to multiply the and y by 2 to get the correct coords:

    map name |	x/y
    map2_insides.elm 95x162
    map2_insides.elm 187x118
    map9f_insides.elm 39 x 88
    map13.elm 21 x 81
    map7_insides.elm 135x113
    map11_insides.elm 13 x 89
    guildmap_lnx.elm 98 x 55
    guildmap_segv.elm	175x107
    cont2map1.elm 107x166
    cont2map1.elm 81 x170
    cont2map3.elm 42 x 28
    cont2map10.elm 105x122
    cont2map5_insides.elm 29x19

This was a programmatic assessment and does not include all the objects.

  8. Note to all the people who are only joining the test server to see the new armor/weapons

Please do not waste our time trying to get directions, gc, or personal viewings. There are many better things you can do to test than get your personal screenshots with the new armor on. I highly doubt that by obtaining the new armor you will help discover many new bugs. Several of us have been testing the armor for some time now.

Suggestion: Grab your MM cloak and explore and try to walk through trees, walls, boxes, lamps, ...
