  1. 40-60 invance team

    Due to the difficulty in getting enough people for the 40-60 invance, I thought I'd post here so we could organize it in advance so alot of us can be on. Next monday, apr 2 at about 5pm eastern us time should be good for me. Planning it in advance should help us get more people, remember we need about 10 to 15. I'd like aislinn or radu or whoever else can start one to clear us to plan for whatever time we decide on. Again, this is the 40-60 a/d invance.   2. Day of Aggression

    All mobs are aggressive, ignore MM/def level, and possibly all maps are multicombat. Would be very fun, although I thought it would be OP and a bit abusable, Fancy pointed out it wouldn't be very OP because all spawns would be super crowded. It certainly spawned an interesting discussion in @@6, many people seemed positive about it, and few negative. Several even said they thought it was a pr0 idea and agreed with me that it would be very enjoyable. it would have to be about as common as random magic day. So what do you think? LazerKitteh

  6. Here's my idea: Entering works just like an instance, with the channel and everything, but no level caps. (high or low) Only 10 players max can join at the same time though, and it is possible to go in with just 1 player. All players spawn in the middle of a medium size, roughly circular map. Some epic battle music begins. Starting with very low level enemies (such as bunnies), monsters begin spawning and slowly work their way upward in difficulty. Drops are normal, but with chances to drop rare items/coins or whatever (just like in an invance). The mobs would spawn in waves, such as Wave 1: Bunnies, rats, beavers Wave 2: imps, foxes, wolves Wave 3: Goblins, Skeletons, small gargs Each wave would be timed, based on difficulty. Eventually you would get up to extremely hard mobs. Rewards: When a player dies, he is taken to IP and granted a prize related to the number of waves he survived. For each wave survived at the end of each wave, all the remaining players get exp based both on the number of waves survived and the number of players left. (more players left, more exp. encourages working together) possible equation: (waves survived + players left) * 3 If a player does not fight in 2 waves in a row, they are kicked out without the final payout. To prevent this from happening by accident, all mobs are hostile and there are more mobs per more players. (not hard to code) All players would be granted a rosto on entering and have it taken away at the end. Concept is to make it fun, not hard, even for a total noob. I think this would be awesome.   9. Hey, So I DLed the source, and got to work. (sorry in a hurry so being concise) I created a folder: c:\include I moved there the .h and dll files for: SDL, SDL_Image, SDL_net, libxml, zlib, openal (I think thats all of them) Told VS to look there for headers. Compile no longer complains about missing .h files! Edit: added #define ELC in global.h and it gets further... Now I get this: In short, the compiler complains about undefined types and values, which I can clearly see in the reletive .h file. Any help?     Hello everyone. Please read the entire post, or at least the 12 important points. I have tried to be clear but some people have contacted me thinking I did something other than what I do, simply because they didn't read the post. Thank you. This is a free mixing service. I mix ingredients you supply to me and then give back the product. Using my mixing service saves you money. For example, an HE costs about 9gc but the ings cost only 6. If you were to buy 1k HE, you would pay almost 10kgc. If you purchase the ingredients and give them to me to mix, you spend only 6kgc. Simple right? There are only a few regulations, and no fee of course because it is free. That being said I'd appreciate it if you consider donating 100 gold coins per thousand essences I mix or 1000 gold coins per 1000 bars. The basic rules and important points are below: The following is subject to change, without effecting previous orders just new ones, at my discretion. I do not trade essences, bars, etc for ingredients. That is not what this service is about. You give me your ingredients plus food, and I mix them. Saves you time and money. Getting trouble about this one. YOU give me ings. I mix them and give you product back. OK? I am alchemy 83 I use bones for food for all items except FE. For them meat is acceptable. Actually, any food except meat/vegies/fruit is OK for most cases, I just prefer bones. Orders of up to 50k essences or 20k bars at a time are allowed. If you are a returning customer after several times I may lift this, however this is on my discretion. When you order your items are added to the back of a list. Mixing is on a first come, first serve basis. I ask for 10% extra food. ( number_of_items * food_per_item / 10 )1.10 Yes, you can trust me. I have mixed for many people and I ask them to add me to trustbot when I am done. Use the details command to see who I have mixed for. I am on usually from 10am-5pm eastern time then back on sometime after 10pm and stay until 4 am or so I am usually on in the afternoon eastern time. you need to contact me email me at bballing1@gmail.com with the tag EL_*yourname* as the subject. otherwise it won't get through my spam filter. If I cannot contact you in PM, I post here. If I still have not heard from you after 2 weeks your items go for a 1 week auction.     EL-bot dotnet homepage Hello everyone, Has anyone used this code linked above before? I'm having trouble with converting it to modern EL. It's like 5 years old lol. If someone could take a look at it (just the parts which are important for a bot, not the UI or anything) and give me some advice on converting it? Particularly the protocol file and the PM interaction appeared to have trouble when I wrote a cmd center program using them. I plan to reconstruct the protocal file from the EL source one. If I understand correctly, sending a message is encoded like this: First byte: channel number Second byte: color (??) All remaining:: message How would I confirm this and how is the message encoded? Lots O questions lol. ... Anybody that helps (significantly, "RTFM" etc is not helping) can have free alerts for a month when my bot goes up. It sends sms messages on special days, can send afk/offline messages to phone, many other phone based services for EL. Brian

    Also you reference LSB and MSB, is this really important? I do alot of client/server stuff while programming but not quite that deep. Can I just convert a int16 datatype into a byte array using a bitconverter class? << is an edit, btw So... the length should be 4? does the total length include the two bytes of length info and the command byte? So the length value would be the length of the message data + 3? I'll post my code on sunday. Brian

    ^^ the above code isn't relevent I've modified it too far... I'm now writing to the main stream of the TPC connecting using a binary writer and reading from the same stream using a binary reader. I'm hand coding the various interactions based on the protocol documentary wiki. How would I determine if I'm writing too fast? I'm simply saying: bOUT.write(mybytes) bOUT.flush() where mybytes is a byte array created to the proper format for the message I'm trying to send and bOUT is a binary reader created on the tcpconnection's stream property. Brian P.S. with the help of Puntif i've essentially ruled out the possibility I'm sending an improper message. I've also send a sit down message. {[sit_down][3][0]} to stand up and the bot disses the same way.

    I've successfully now sent a PM. The error was that instead of sending the length as a short, it was sending it as a string literal encoded into bytes. New issue is that after a PM is sent the bot instantly disconnects from the server. Any idea why? Brian

    PK Contest in DPA 40 Last man standing Time: Dec 2, 12 noon US eastern time. - 20 players - when the contest starts everyone enters the arena and the fights begin - when your opponent dies you have to attack someone else asap - 1kgc entrance fee per participant, the winner gets it all Rules: - Max a/d 40! - Special Swords/Armors are forbidden (OSoMN, Mirror Greaves, etc) - no Brodding - no big summons (tigers/bears are allowed) - no ranging or bombing - no PvP, the goal is to kill eachother, not to box a friend to stay in the arena as long as possible - if you leave the arena (dis/tele, die, walk out) you are disqualified - restocks are forbidden - hyperbags or entering as a mule are forbidden - spectators are welcome, but may not interfere with the contest in any way (means no magic/ranging/summoning from outside the arena, no resupplying fighters, no blocking exits) 20 participants only.     Hey everyone, This idea has been floating around in my head for a while now. I had an idea a while back that we should have a LAN party for EL. We could have food that resembles in game food, potion-esque drinks, wear costumes that look like in game wearables, all the other things that people who are to far gone to realize how nerdy it is do. We could have a PK event, maybe even do an invance. For non-combatants we could have mixing parties or harvesting parties. Would anyone be interested in having some kind of convention or LAN party? I live in Florida, USA in the Tampa/Saint Petersburg area. Perhaps several such meetings could be organized at the same time around the US/Europe so that many players could attend. Anyway, why don't you all weigh in on this idea. I think it would be awesome and logistically speaking such an event could be pulled off hopefully by Late April, early May. Brian
