  1. There have been a lot of good points raised thus far. Overall, I agree that the NMT should be breakable.

    ...

The suggestion to remove the branch of destruction may be a reasonable offset for the NMT becoming breakable. Some players would be able to use NMT in PK, and still be at a disadvantage to those using perk cloaks (e.g. BP, Mirror), as well as the mana burn rings, bone of death, etc. A cape of the unbreakable would still be important for PK, but not necessarily be the end-all be-all PK cape. PK used to be less of a hateful quest for vengeance, and more of a fun "You killed me, I'll train up and beat you next time" environment. The incessant PK-driven flames and outright disgusting attitudes do not reflect well upon EL. Furthermore, what new player would want to enter PK when he has to be warned "watch out if you decide to enter PK - some rich player might try to destroy all of your hard-earned stuff". As has been mentioned previously on the subject of game development, other successful games should be looked at to see what works. I have not heard of any other (similar) game in which players can deliberately and permanently destroy items of another player.

    To sum up:

NMT should be breakable, as proposed. Not repairable.

Suggestion: eliminate BroD to improve player environment.

the proposal to remove brod was connected with making NTMs breakable, i think thats a valid point of view.

And i fully agree to what i made bold in what asgnny said.

    regards,

  2. making NMT breakable comes for myself at a very bad point in time, since i just worked some months to afford my first one.

Besides this (i know you dont care), there is but another point that wasnt mentioned:

NMTs are currently dropped by monsters that are more or less only trainable by ppl that already _have_ an NMT cloak.

For example, i just started to train fluffies, but my a/d isnt that high that i could do it without good armor. So when a player is at that stage he needs to buy an NMT. If it breaks he needs to buy(!) another. People who train fluffs in the 100s a/d can train those crits without any armor at all for ages.

So in this aspect lower chars are disfavoured more and higher chars will have only few probs with it. If we ever have a poll about that, it would be nice to know a/d lvl of the voters.

On the other hand i dont really understand, where the current problem is where NMT isnt breakable (but can be BRODED).

NMTs are still ~340kgc on the market so where is the need to change it?

And: is it intended to make NMW cloak unbreakable in turn as mentioned?

    regards,

    Gilrain

  3. if its a moderate change, probably nothing severe is going to happen.

Still it leaves me with two questions:

first: weighing a/d more than PP seems to me like favoring the invested time (for combat training) vs. the (potentially) invested money (for PP buying either with gc only or with real $ involved). Doesnt that mean we are having less $ in the provess and isnt that reducing income for the game maker, too in the end?

At least it favors the high end chars that are often sold and bought and have been trained for ages vs. chars that are not that old but their players invest more money. (neutral view intended)

second: although i know this game is beta, it forces its players to plan for years ahead, since its also a very challenging game. I miss a bit the long term perspective of the planning, especially now when the future of PPs is discussed. Maybe its a good idea to connect this discussion about the role of PPs in combat with the other ideas of renovating the PP system (but ofc not in this thread). Luckily my own char is not that advanced to have a problem with any changes.

    Gilrain

  4. I used to sell the extra silver ore I brought back to storage after mixing LE or bars.

With the mini events do I not sell any ore/minerals/flowers, only if friends need.

I think I'm not the only who do this.

imo I noticed essence sales and a general decrease in market channel after mini events were implemented.

I find this kind of odd though because I don't find the events to be bothersome while harvesting silver. Sure, I cannot harvest afk anymore (which I miss ;) ) but not so bad.

I think the main reason for the decrease was how many mixing/harvest services players that left after mini events came into play. Look at ELG guild for example...

Wonderful/Sanddragon/Bruno would harvest/mix for people but vanished without a trace after the new events came into the game. I know that ELG always had minerals/ores/essences for sale and having that guild die out did a small toll on the EL market.

Now multiply that by how many other harvesters/mixers quit and you might notice a trend.

    double ack.

to compensate for that the customers should harv more silver as it was proposed...

    regards

  6.

Failing of repair should imho result in loss of the scales and the other things you need to repair the item, but not in loss of the damaged piece you want to repair. All other things can be adjusted by the number of scales needed for repairing.

    regards,

But that's what saving stones are for, Gilrain.

yes ofcourse, but this is not relevant here imho.

The cost of successful repair is determined by the number of scales needed. The cost of unsuccessful repair is capped by saving stones - thats 2 different things. If you adjust degrading rate and adjust number of scales needed for repair, you have every freedom you need. The relevant cost is (or should be) the cost of successful repair imho.

  7. if the repairing process doesnt have a chance of complete loss of the damaged piece (unlike with Tankel and HB), then i vote yes.

This sort of comment is a guaranteed way to not get the repairing happen. It is complete utter... fail.

thats your opinion, the other is mine. PLs respect my opinion as i respect yours.

  8. yes. not only is it nice from the RPG view and the skilled players (here manuers), i also think that increased possibilities are good for the market.

Of course the amount of scales and the other details must be balanced, but that can be adjusted after some experience.

    :(

  9. I do remember doing a search at the time and finding somewhere that the EL logo was allowed to be used for game related stuff so assumed it was ok, i also remember asking labrat at the time it was added if it was ok and he seemed to think there was nothing wrong with it. I have been wearing this cape for about 3 years and never once has any assumed im a mod because of it. I should also make it clear that there is about 6 other people that have this cape.

It would have been more appropriate to ask a mod

cmon, this is a bit ridiculous and unfair to Looter as well. He paid for that service and already removed it.

Why not write MOD on the mod capes, if you dont want misunderstandings. I didnt even know, that mods have a special cape up to now, so i dont think there is any real harm or damage based on that cape design thing.

    relax,

    Gilrain

PS: might be good to point players to a compilation of those 'extra rules', if you really want to ban ppl based on them

  10. One question: Are the no votes on ACWs Ts because "AC summoned in Pk" or the fact ACWs with ts, would make assassinating hulda

trainers a bit more difficult ?

i voted NO there, because i think none of the ACWs should have TS, not even the invaded ones.

make the summons see what the summoner does, if the summoner uses Ts and see's a mage then the summons do,

    full ACK to this one!

  11. its not violating the rules of EL, thats right, and noone said so.

I just posted it to inform others, that he is not trustworthy, thats it.

If its "OK" or "normal" to act like that , thats up to you to judge, but thats not important for what i posted.

  12. jsut for the information of other (and new) players:

Dont trust the char 'Shocker' (in guild FSM as of now)

He stole some loot from us in yesterdays invasion (bagjumping invisibly).

If you need proof, ask ryddler or molime, they witnessed it.

    best regards,

    Gilrain

  13. if you want more allrounders in the game, then favor the allrounders, not the onesided pk'ers.

I have invested some points in nexuses and it was my choice, cause i think its more fun that way. I still think, i'm a bit an allrounder but with focus on fighting.

If some 'pure' fighters have no fun in the game when they reach some level, thats certainly more a problem of fighting/pk part of the game, not the nexus part.

So we should think of changes in that field. Why e..g not favor fighting in a group more compared to fighting alone, then the need to be the one top PP buyer would be reduced maybe.

The proposal, that you make, just questions the whole PP system. To rethink that system is probably a good idea, but the proposed capes are not a good idea imho.

Rethinking the PP system could involve introducing 2 kinds of PP and diversify the whole skill system that way, but this will be a bigger debate.

  14. i support the wish to separate invasion/lenny from pkcentral channels.

Its not the problem _who_ is talking, but that pk chat makes no sense most of the time, except you are in KF to watch while reading.

@conavar: there is a difference between that and someone announcing his new harvest level. The last is equally relevant (or irrelevant) to everyone, but comments about some pk fight taking place in some pk corner are not.
