  1. [Treasure Hunt] Fresh breeze in the morning...

So it seems that HikoboshiBSD enjoyed the place too - enjoy the hydrogenium bar. Bag location was: You are in Morcraven Marsh [114,323]
  2. Poll - New client update?

It would be a minor update only, there is no need to change anything besides the executable file (as far as i know).
  3. Poll - New client update?

Yes of course ... Imho somehow i don't see a reason somebody would vote against. Maybe they could enlighten us ?
  4. Understanding the astrology

Check out >> THIS << post by Raistlin, It has quite lot of info about astro.
  5. Day of Aggression

Or those who don't like spam
  6. Magic cube

I'd suggest making it completely random and it could work like this: 1. Put this magic cube item into your inventory 2. Open manu window and place 5 removal stones into it 3. Click mix -> a new removal stone appears (completely random) and of course the 5 removals are consumed as ingredients.
  7. Red Dragon spawn is taken

You are free to train a/d to the point you can fight the dragon in melee combat and serp back.Anyway have you ever considered asking nicely ?
  8. Reconstruction Day!

11:00 EDT is also 17:00 CEST (Central European Summer Time GMT +2) List of all European countries using CEST can be found >> HERE <<
  9. I installed the package from your testing repo (12.04 here with most recent xmllib) and it works without any problems. Well done Bluap!
  10. New Buffer Spells

You don't have to put the spells to 50+ magic. Make it available early, but change the strength of the effects based on magic level.
  11. Pear finder cooldown

Voted "none" ... If a cooldown gets implemented i am REALLY curious how many whiners players will actually try and do at least few pear hunts. I really think that anybody can get skilled in pear hunting just like Burn or Malameo did. But it needs practice and patience and that's something people don't have. I don't have patience to level a/d, so i'll never be top a/d ... Other people don't have the patience to explore and think about tactics when finding pears - these people will never be top pear finders. nothing bad about it. If i go to a bethel invasion or a PK with my 100ish a/d, i'll get owned pretty hard - it is exactly the same with pear hunting, you don't have the skill ? you get owned....
  12. New invance rules discussion

+1. And especially the last sentence should imho silence all those who whine about someone supposedly or actually being afk. Active melee people get their reward not only in XP but also in gc. Active mages and rangers might get a share, but also get their additional XP by actually using their skill. Heh so i just stop doing invances as a tank - as i said i burn quite lot of HEs/SRs/eva pots and VERY rarely get anything. Applying your logic i should stop tanking and instead just do most damage i can so i get the drops and "get rewarded more then someone who kills less" ? That said, i don't mind tanking and burning stuff, but then when i see people in augs standing around and only one fighter attacking the monster, why should i bother ? Problem with augs is that the lower your armor, the higher chance you'll get attacked by the monster when you join the fight.
  13. New invance rules discussion

I think that removing drops would do a big favor for all invancers, because some (lot?) of the high end invancers just go there to farm gc. I usually go to invances as a tank and yeah a tank never (or VERY randomly) gets the drops. I have no problem with not earning anything in invance, but when you see people just standing around looking at you tanking a hard monster with just one fighter engaged, it's really discouraging. Regarding the gate guard - i think that the current ruleset covers that really good. One gatekeeper and one archer is enough to hold the monsters in most cases. If you're in gate, use invis pots so the lurking monsters do not attack you etc... If you can't hold the gate till some other players come, you're not a good gate keeper = don't do it. I really don't think that 3 people at gate are necessary, if yes it's just lack of tactics - when there is only one big group going straight to port (in 100-120) and leaving tons of trices/giants/naspas behind them, then it's not a good strategy - and yeah this happens a LOT in 100-120 ... I think that lower end players should join fights even when hard monsters are being fought. Of course it requires some common sense, you'll not attack when 2 people are melee fighting a giant and nobody else is around.
  14. That way you could "move" the spawn to storage or other convenient place right ?
  15. Well, before the "dedicated harvester" i'd say that often they did not earn enough (gc)... When dedicated harvester perk came out i took it and now i make even some profit. It is of course not linear, because sometimes you earn more and sometimes less, but in average i make profit with harvester medallions and the perk. If you don't intend to use the meds all the time, don't take the perk
  16. Well it's probability ...I broke 4 in one day, but also only one in a whole month (harvesting a lot). It's just how lucky you are when random number generator computes the numbers
  17. Quests

What radu was referring to was the tutorial quest, not the other quests i guess. AND: If you can't bother to find a quest (what IS a relevant part of the quest itself) and "does not like searching for NPC's that give quests" why would you be willing to do the quest ? I tell you why, just because of the reward. Quests are not mandatory, if you have the desire to do quests (for the sake of playing the quest not just for reward), then your quest begins when you search for the NPC starting it. Also, you may want to read the "background" information that is being told by NPCs as it contains the story and why a quest is there and often indications to areas where some other poor NPC needs your help. PS1: there is a rule saying that quest related help is not allowed on official channels - however if anybody asks about the tutorial quest, (s)he is given advice via PMs PS2: please do not mix newbie tutorial with other quests ... these are two completely different things. PS3: if a newbie leaves the game just because he can't see NPC with some sign "I have quest - talk to me!", should we really care ? Don't get me wrong, i too want the player base grow, but not at all costs.
  18. Quests

Heh, well i guess that if you learn about RP aspect of the game (eg. history, legends, tales etc which all are on the forums and also in game in one or other form), you'll have enough hints which parts of eternal lands to explore. Thing is that players don't bother with reading. It's impossible to implement a system which pleases people who aren't bothered to read what an NPC tries to tell them. The only solution would be to display them something like this: 1. go to White Stone to coords [xxx, yyy] (use map view to select the right coordinates) 2. enter house at this position (if you don't see it, try turning around with arrow keys) 3. talk to NPC with name "QuestNPC" (use "talk" icon on the NPC) 4. select dialog option "3" etc ... Most (if not all) quests are designed in a logical way, where it's not a random position and random text... As said before, NPCs are not there just for looks. If a player cannot be bothered by reading what the NPC tells, then why is (s)he even bothering with quests. Lot of important hints and clues are told in the other dialogs, but i think that is just common sense.
  19. Quests

Well, if you "play" the quest using a walkthrough then it's not playing and enjoying the quest, it's going for the reward, nothing more and nothing less. Finding the quest is part of the quest itself - the effort you spend on finding a quest (even if you stumble on it by accident), should be rewarded by playing it. Also, quests should promote exploration. Lot of players don't explore, they just ask what the best place for certain tasks is. This can be clearly seen in some contests like hide and seek, which are mostly won by rather small set of explorers players. Or consider current situation with finding pears/treasures - people without map knowledge will never be able to compete untill they explore and learn the maps and it's secrets. Edit: edited punctuations to make it more readable
  20. Quests

Lol, really impossible, r is it just the lack of patience and will to explore ?I bet most of the time (like 95%) it's just that people are too lazy to explore and only want the reward, not to actually play the quest. Btw. from the definition of quest: quest [kwɛst] n 1. the act or an instance of looking for or seeking; search a quest for diamonds 2. (Historical Terms) (in medieval romance) an expedition by a knight or company of knights to accomplish some prescribed task, such as finding the Holy Grail 3. the object of a search; goal or target my quest is the treasure of the king 4. Rare a collection of alms vb (mainly intr) 1. (foll by for or after) to go in search (of) 2. (Historical Terms) to go on a quest 3. (Individual Sports & Recreations / Hunting) (of gun dogs or hounds) a. to search for game b. to bay when in pursuit of game 4. Rare to collect alms 5. (also tr) Archaic to go in search of (a thing); seek or pursue [from Old French queste, from Latin quaesita sought, from quaerere to seek]
  21. Heh, well i really don't see how this could bother you ? Only thing that the harvest level helps you with, is the speed of harvesting higher level harvestables. You can get to quite high harvesting level pretty easy, so the speed of harvesting most of the harvestables is acceptable very soon. And as with other skills, the higher level items are supposed to be harder to get.
  22. Red Dragon at 100-120 invance

Well i think that a more viable solution would be to replace some Yetis or Fluffys with LOrcs ...
  23. Tel to loc problem

I checked that and was not able to tele across ... But could be just my lack of skill
  24. CalsoniC

I find it funny how Calsonic tries to look like a bad a$$ who does not care about peoples opinion and how hard he tries to differentiate between instance and invasion and other situations when it comes to trust. Eaither you are trustworthy or you're not. You cannot say: "oh hi, i'll go with you on instance, you can trust me.", not after incidents like this one was. As i said in my earlier post, what goes around, comes around - we will see how long will PkG remain active enough to be self sufficient...
  25. CalsoniC

I think you missed the point of this topic.Oh and i'm sure that what goes around comes around .. just wait a bit
