    @Trollson- I never considered RP in my suggestion, I was talking of game balancing issues, not names. Logically a useful use of charm attribute is to enable you to make more sense when talking in channels, but since this is hard to program... Anyway my suggestion does provide a smallish effect across a wide range of activities, and I don't see how is an addendum to any skills. @RockFall- True, but I was thinking in particular that charm should be useful for more summoning, in real life a charming personality is useful for almost everything, but in game it is restricted to a single skill, and the least used one at that (I have summon 20, with a rank that is 300 higher than any other skill I have). No other attribute is only useful to a single skill. --Duck2

    I agree... in part, not completely. There is a important reason for health decay, and that is to ensure that monsters will die without being killed, otherwise we could summon an armed orc in the DP ship and do nothing but collect rat skins for 10-15 hours if we wanted (or yeti on a wolf spawn, same effect). Personally I think what you suggested would be fine, if it only happened within a certain radius of the summoner, and perhaps double health loss if the summoner leaves the map. As for making charm more useful (and it isn't that useful now, certainly not worthless, but not that useful either), I would prefer the following changes... First: Double Summons only happen on conventional summons. Second: When Making summon stones chance of making two stones instead of one, this helps solve the high lvl summon stone problem and also provides a reason to conventional summon instead of summon stones. Third: Apply this doubling chance to manu, potion, alch, craft, thus providing a reason for everybody to get it, not just summoners, and probably make chances about half what summoning double chances is. If implemented however it could perhaps work more like recycling day, just giving the ingredients back, rather than "you have made 2 titanium shield of life drain" or EFE or something like that. Just some ideas I like, I don't know exactly how they would effect EL. (If I was a dev I would certainly give them more consideration before doing them) --Duck2

    #suicide is a lot less serous than #reset and if you suicide than you can pick up rings at sto, go back where you where, get your DB and beam out, #reset is extremely painful just to beam out, I think you are confusing #suicide with #Kill_me yes, which is NOT suggested if you get stuck. --Duck2

Unfortunatly I don't think counters are reliable enough for that, any kills taken at range do not count (harm, poison, life drain, and presumably arrows, at least they don't count for me) and I often get silly things on my kill counters, like they say I died 5 times to female goblins when I in fact died once to 5 female goblins (invasion in portland, quite a while ago) so if to people multi the person who gets the bounty? And what if the person walks right back on the pk map and someone else kills him and gets to the NPC first? And how would they know who has a bounty on him or not? I have played one game that had this system, I didn't like it at all (I didn't like much else about the game either, that is why I am playing EL ) --Duck2

    we have a real problem with that in EL... fluffy rabbits don't seem to be going extinct anyway If fluffy rabbits are tougher than Cyclops how tough is a fluffy cat? (P.S. I shall not add an opinion on this topic because as a bird species that has a very low opinion of cats, my opinion would be heavily prejudiced against them) --Duck2

    Well since Entropy said he will add a cape I am fairly confident the perk still works, since all capes actually give you the perk, not just the effects of the perk (you can tell because cape perks show up in #list_perks), So I think you should enjoy being one of the few people in the game to have the perk Unless Entropy gets more complaining about it he will probably leave it as it is now. --Duck2

  15. I'd hardly call it free. The 50 bars are around 600k or so, the stones, depending on how rare, could be around 200k (if they have a drop rate similar to NMT, plus these will have a higher demand because each person would want more than 1)So for like 800k you can get a pp, yes. omg, ppl with unlmited money IRL will spend 400$ per pp to take over game, this is not fair Think about it, someone could spend 4 mil USD, get 10, 000 "free PP" (for the bargain price of $4 million...)and own the pk maps... and we would all wind up with a much better game because of the amount of money Entropy has to spend... Anyway I voted yes, and if Entropy ever wants to put them in the store good for him, I wouldn't mind a bit, I understand that you people want the game to be fair, but remember continued development depends on continued revenue from the game. --Duck2

    No, at least I highly doubt it and hope it isn't. I am not interested in listening to newbies scream that the can't complete the tutorial quest because bears, boars, wolves, puma, deer are killing them in WS. And it likewise prevents lilac harvesting in VotD. Restricting everyone that can't kill a grizzly to IP for a whole day is a bad idea. (note-I can kill a grizzly with few problems, so all it would mean to me was that I have to stay out of maps with tigers) --Duck2

    True, I think magic spell messages should be removed (Recieved magic spell messages, the caster should still get a message), it would be a benifit to magic users (magic kills don't count on counters anyway, at least not the ones I have killed with magic) Anyway, thanks for clearing this up, Entropy. --Duck2

    Don't you think they might know arrows have been implemented? Anyone who thinks a new poison area should reconsider his pk profession. When they are introduced people will become aware of how they work, and if they suddenly lose health they will guess the reason fairly quickly... I see no need for a message to tell you that a long pointy wooden shaft has just been introduced to your anatomy... --Duck2

    13+ perception ?? thats 22 pp "i guess" in resoning or instic ...... most newbies ppl dont have that on phy or coor ..... i guess 8~9 must be maximum * or even 7 as u have * am afraid that if it was like u said ..... ppl will start making alt characters as an "scout"... to help them in training "with an mm cape in a non-pk map" FMA keep in mind that 22 pp gives more than perception, if in reasoning it gives dexterity and rationality, importantly reasoning gives dex without giving reaction, so it is good for training. Anyway, I was wondering if the clothing choices we set in the beginning will effect it... because I have a rather conspicuous white shirt Personally I still have not noticed any difference, I trained through an entire night in carmien manor, and I had no problems seeing the ogres at fairly long ranges (as long as I ever saw them) I did notice a difference in how quickly I spot harvesters, so I was again wondering, does sitting effect it? Lastly you said that animal size, color, etc will be taken into account, are snakes and rats going to get real hard to hunt? (maybe we could triple the number of spawns and make them very hard to see, in RL hunting green snakes in green grass isn't easy) --Duck2

    PK guilds could take lower level players in uber armors with uber weapons and kill the dragon with them over and over massively cranking out the att/def for the players and start making cheap armies. This would massively suck. er.. I don't think I could kill a dragon no matter what they put me in... and I think the same goes for most players under 100/100, I get the point, but I don't think dragons are endangered by this... (they have 3k hps, they don't die that fast ) Anyway on the basic idea I dislike it, just because other MMORPGs use this system why should we? The current system works fine, and I highly doubt that Entropy will make such a drastic change. Anyway in RL, you are better in something if you train not if you do it. er.. please lets not bring realism into this... in RL ducks do not kill ogres by the hundred And in RL it is all PvP anyway... and later PK...

    I doubt that is the reason, after all wine isn't storable and wine is definitely storable in RL I think it is in there for "Balancing issues" IE making people use FPs, Toadstool, Bones for mixing. I don't think tin cans are very useful anyway... and use a tin bar to store food!? remember that this topic started to find a use for tin, who would even spend one tin ore to store a piece of cooked meat? -- Duck2

  25. Invasion Motivation

    This idea has some interesting potential, but not as presented. A 20/20 will not be able to resist an invasion of Yeti or Giants, and a 130/130 is not likely to risk 100k+ to the abilities of a few low levels to defeat an invasion of deer, instead he will beam in and kill all the deer as fast as he can catch them. Instead make it so gc can be stored in storages as it is now, OR it can be stored in a bank and gain weekly interest, but their is the chance of an invasion taking a goodly percentage away from it. To prevent the problem mentioned in the first paragraph make different banks give different interest lvls (lower interest means less invasions) or have set amount that can be given, IE WSC bank=5k acounts [max 3], PL bank=10k acounts [max 4], TG bank=20k [max 5], etc all the way to somthing like Bank of North Redmoon= 200k accounts, [no max], the higher the amounts for an account the higher the monsters attacking it will be, so a raid on Bank of NRI will have yeti, giant, and maybe even dragon, but WSC will get gargs at max, and ussually deer, male gobs, wolves, etc. It could also reflect how much is in the bank how often raids occur, so high lvls could "buy" an invasion by making sure their was a lot in the bank, because the more gc in the bank, the more common the raids against it. As mentioned before, the gc cannot be withdrawn until the loan expires, so if you put in 100kgc for 1 week, then at the end of 1 week the bank will give you 105k (or whatever the interest is) unless a invasion has taken some of it, nobody will be robbed of their saving while logged out unless the took that risk by putting it into the bank, storages should remain completly safe however.
