    Ok, daar gaan we dan, de eerste speler met het juiste antwoord en winnaar in categorie A, is inderdaad Myrea. \o/ Voor categorie B ben ik naar het park gegaan vanmiddag en aldaar in het zonnetje gevraagd welk van de antwoorden men het meeste aansprak bij die afbeelding. Ontzettend gelachen, leuke conversaties gehad en toen de tijd om was bleek het een interessante uitslag. Met de meeste, en beide precies evenveel stemmen: de inzending van Niemand en van Scarr. Ik heb besloten om jullie allebei dan ook te belonen. Myrea, Niemand, Scrarr, gefeliciteerd, als je online ingame bent laat het me even weten via /pm en ik kom naar je toe. Mocht het binnen 7 dagen niet lukken dan stuur ik je de coords van een hyperbag.

    Personally I don’t think a forum thread would help, a direct message to the owner, via the bot, or via Mercator, like Ghrae described above is in my opinion the very best way to go. Just like real life and in game, if disappointed twice, three times, I let them know politely and they will not see me again, ever, no matter how convenient or tempting the offers. Behind every bot is a player, and as every player is different, so are the bots. Each play with their own tactics ( choice of location, choice of assortment, choice of pricing, choice of market tactics (buying/selling) ) according to their own play style. There are no rules that the offer has to be realistic or that the bot can not afford its offers. Then there is also the challenge of orphaned/neglected bots with outdated market values and gold coin/stock. One of the solutions I have seen suggested before and like most (if at all possible but we can dream can we ) would be if the bot has not enough gold coins to pay for it, that it will also simply not offer to buy it, in wanted list, on website(s) and in advertising. After each trade it checks the amount of gold coins in stock/float and update it’s ‘want to buy’ offers accordingly. ( example if a bot desires to buy 2000 essence and can only afford to buy only 500, it will advertise/wants to buy only 500, if it wishes to buy 1 Rostogol ( or 10 ) but can not afford one, it will not buy/advertise them at all, until being able to afford ). It means that bots without gold coins would have an empty ‘wanted’ list and these ‘wanted items’ will not show up in websites. Future music or even possible? I have no idea. Another possibility would be to add to the bot rules that a minimum set amount of gold coins, as a float, must be on the bot when launched for the first time, and this float amount has to be maintained on a weekly/bi-weekly/monthly (?) basis by the bot owner, but I am not so sure if this solution is a very desirable one for its own good reasons.

A: 1 Rostogol voor degene die als allereerste het juiste antwoord hier weet te plaatsen. B: 1 Rostogol die het meest originele humoristische alternatief er op weet te bedenken. Regels: Antwoorden alleen hier in het Nederlands/Vlaams, categorie A: als eerste, doch binnen 5 dagen na nu, categorie B: ook binnen 5 dagen na nu. Geen discussie over inzendingen en/of uitslag van de jury, humor is een doorslaggevende factor in categorie B maar hou het boven de gordel. Je kan voor beide categorieën slechts 1x inzenden. Uitreiking en uitslag winnaars volgende week zondagavond.

    Suggestion: Log in rewards Give players who log in every day ( and play a minimum required amount of in-game time ) a small reward after reaching a certain amount of consecutive days. When a day is missed the chain is broken and starts from beginning again the next time the player logs in. Also when the set amount of days has been reached and reward is claimed it is reset to beginning. When player has reached the required amount of days a pop up will appear with the text to go to an NPC where player can claim his reward. What the reward(s) would be I leave up to the capable hands of the ones. ( perhaps a small % increase of days and rewards based on certain overall levels ) I would like to suggest no mentioning of how many days remaining, no counters or anything anywhere, so it would be a surprise to player when pop up pops up edit grammar

    That would depend on the value set per player per overal level. For example, a player with an overall level of lets say 250 gc worth per day, would get after 7th consecutive days ( for example ) a value reward of 1750 – 3000 gc. ( for example ) If the overall level value of the player is much higher, for example 1000 gc per day then after 14th consecutive days ( for example ) the reward when chain is not broken could be something like 14 – 40 k gc. I am just using these amounts for examples, to explain, nothing more, I rather let the exact details over to the ones that know.

    I was thinking of friendship gifts, a small surprise, no treasures or kingdoms, just something that makes you go “oh nice”, just enough to go for it again. “Granny Lorpack thought you could use these.. “Lord Vermor is pleased with your progress and decided to give you a little reward… “Mother Nature found something under her pillow with your name on it… Etc. “You can pick it up at … “ Add to it a rare chance ( with a small % increase with every certain overall level a player achieved ) to get an even better reward. Especially newbies and low to medium overall level players will be first to see the effect. For players with higher overall levels the challenge will be higher ( more days ) but also their chance for a better rare reward is higher. The reason why is two-fold: to thank the player who has chosen to play EL over the other games out there every day, and a little nudge every day for 'limbo' players to play EL instead of another one. The hook, line & sinker is the actual chain and the incentive not to break it.

    The Quests * ( * daily, tutorial, stories ) ( and their solutions ) have since the beginning in this game kept secretly in game, on official site and here on the forums, its not something to be discussed and I want to thank the moderators for doing a great job over all these years. Of course there have been websites, such as El Wiki or CEL providing very useful information, but also never information is given about the Quests * itself. The information given on EL- Wiki Forums is only available after a member has been approved. Of course there are also walkthroughs etc. on guild forums / websites, with information given depending by the attitude / playing style of the guild master / guild rules which is available for guild members only. I also had a secret cellar section hidden on ours with riddles that might have helped some guildies on their way. Of course there have been other websites too in the past, being anti game / provocative, call it what you like, providing sometimes useful ( and sometimes deliberately wrong ) information. However never ( as far as I know ) has their been a website, ( the one you are referring too ), which so openly gathered all classified and reveals everything and all in the complete Full Monty for everyone and all to see, one click, reducing the Quests * in a, as you evidently prefer, a simple walk from A to B ( or question mark / explanation mark ). Why do you think there are no maps in game ( unless gained via an (again) unofficial way ) for the caves and mines, except DP cave? Why do you think there is no NPC selling official maps of them in game? Sometimes things are made because they are ment to be. My thoughts and idea’s ( and intentions ) about doing a Quest might differ from yours, I apologize. This particular website, in my own personal opinion, even though the intentions of the maker may have been good and honorable, it is – again in my opinion – a direct kick in the face of Radu, the development team ( writers, programmers etc ) and especially EL as a GAME itself, pardon my language. If this is your definition of what a Quest, and doing one in a game is all about, I think you might need to do a re-think. N.

    Theoretical question: In a game where the quest NPC’s have a marker above their head, does one bother to talk to the other NPC’s around, or does one go straight from question mark to exclamation mark? ... The Quests in this game I personally have always particularly liked because of their multiple challenges, including finding them, unlike other games upon release only minimal information is given ( for a reason ). The story lines, hints, links and red herrings, clues and humor used in the dialog of most of the NPC’s is something worth discovering. Together they explain quite a bit of the background and history of EL. By adding markers on top of only the relevant quest NPC’s ( even Tutorial only ) will be like taking the existence out from those ( also very important ) other story NPC’s in game. Just my thoughts.

I dont know your definition of Old but If you mean players from very beginning or first years... yes, some of these players are also still around

    Maybe it is an idea as a “special day” though: all guildmaps give x% extra pvp exp, and as counter balance, as Scarr suggested a negative day with a minus.

  19. PK will perhaps also become more popular if (more) official events will be held, for instance one official evening of events (each limited to certain levels) on a monthly basis. Here is one idea I have in mind: a PK maps only contest (automatic) The Wanted List (a combination of lottery, search and find and kill on sight) Occasionally (for example like the GWIS invansions) a (random *) tough specially adapted creature (preferably without drops) spawns on a random PK only map. When this creature is killed the player who killed it gets a pop up message. Like for example: “If you have bought a permit then rush back to “Whatsitsname” to claim your reward, if not, you know what to do for next time” or something like that. The NPC whatsitsname sells “permits” to players for a fee (the higher the class, the higher the fee) GWIS: Alert to all hunters (class XX) who registered at Whatsitsname: an evil creature from the catacombs of Mortos have managed to escape and have been spotted. * the evil creature is in the same class as advertised Each time the NPC sells a permit in a certain class (as per A/D, for example same as per invance) the jackpot of the reward will grow a little. If the player matches the winning kill at the NPC he/she will get the reward in gold coins in his/her storage with a global congratulations message about the claim. Each player can only buy 1 permit per hunt (until there has been a successful kill/claim, NPC will tell you) and only for his/her current class. The NPC will keep a percentage (10-25%) of the jackpot for offering his services. After a certain amount of positive kills/claims a personal award (bronze/silver/gold) for the player If a player who has no permit or is in a different class kills the creature there is no reward and the game starts again at next random occasion. The gold coins from permits collected (minus 10-25% commission) will be divided equally over the different classes for the next hunt to raise the base jackpot. A dangerous game, yes, there but so are the PK maps. It will lure players of a certain class into PK maps and players above to hunt them after the announcement. There are no rules that you cannot eliminate the competition, or that the competition will try to eliminate you or the creature, but then again you could be victorious too. It’s just a thought, perhaps flaws and oversights, pros and con’s, it’s just a thought to create a fun thing specially for the PK maps. Hope there will be more. N. edit: grammar.

    Thanks and I do understand what you mean, if made like that though the chance that it might land on a PK map is much much smaller, therefore the incentive is reduced, the idea of this hunt is for the PK’ers among us where the hunters could be hunted themselves. Permits are per game / hunt, if you are for example class A, and a class C hunt is advertised, if the C hunt is finished, you as a class A will keep your permit until the hunt within your levels is advertised. If a player within class C ( and he/she had bought a permit ) was successful he/she can collect the jackpot at NPC. If the creature gets killed by someone outside the advertised class the hunt is over and all permits collected for that class race will be divided equally over the other classes to raise their class jackpot. There is nothing to stop you and try to stop another class hunt and raise with that the jackpot for your own class, no matter if your higher or lower.

    No, bad idea. I personally believe market prices are a daily thing, supply and demand, not something that was cast in gold the day it was introduced. Also own a bot for some years now and he has been placed at a specially selected location, as probably most owners do. Silly suggestions ( both ) for something that I think does not even exists. Perhaps look at your own challenges, change your tactics perhaps. N. -- Before I posted my short statement it was in a much more elaborate post but I deleted most again after writing was done to come to the bare essence. However since it was possible ground to be misinterpreted or misunderstood I rather explain my reasoning, after al I did not graduate the handsome boy modeling school of Lala for nothing. In my opinion every new update, item, new creature or new game component, will cause a ripple in EL’s economy. An item or simple ingredient that was before, perhaps years, hardly in any demand could suddenly be popular and or hard to get. Their value will fluctuate accordingly. Since this game is in development and not something I bought in a box I just go with the flow as I have done over the years. I consider NPC buying and selling prices ( when available ) guide lines, but that’s it, consider it quite normal that any player ( or bot ) is offering better or worse prices depending on his/her own personal play style, available time, offered service level, location, mentality or goal. The topic itself was about two things: Stop selling rare items ( Rostogols, Bindings, Essences etc ) from official shop and removing all the trade bots from game. If you understand the game mechanics of EL a little, and I honestly think most of us do, there is without a doubt many moments in your career ingame where those rare items are needed. You can be lucky enough to make or find yourself, make enough gc to buy from player or bot or get at the official shop. Cutting down the third option of the supply from shop and make it only player base / luck based will only make the rare items more rarer and ergo will guarantee to raise their value in gold coins, no matter how much tweaking in their find or make rate. Any item requiring these items will also rise in rarity and value. Furthermore by excluding these items from shop an important part of income for the development and investment is reduced hence it will hinder game development even might cause game existence. Removing all bots was the second part of the topic, I for one enjoy their presences dotted around in the maps and the services they offer besides the NPC’s. And hence their popularity I am not the only one. The reason I took a bot a couple of years ago myself was that I no longer had to spend my time on market channel and could spend time more wisely. The thought that I had to go to a central Mall or every trade had to be back to player to player would be a serious downgrade to playing time / style and the availability of items, hence their prices are also bound to go up. Were these good ideas’s to solve an economy? In my personal opinion, and I do not, I repeat, do not, speak for the community, I am just one, just a simple player, nothing more, I personally think the suggestions as made would not increase development, gameplay enjoyment or having the desired effect. Fixing the economy, if needed, should be looked at from a completely different perspective, but that was not what this topic was or is about.     In my opinion the most logical solution if it is giving grief would be then to remove it also and/or have some pets there instead, but like I said I assume, we can only guess the reason why there was one deposit left behind that day. And yes, I really hope though that it was a rhetorical question. Is it your normal way to enter a mine? But once again, I don’t think it’s correct to discuss game secrets here.
