Restitution fees? This is why companies have terms and conditions which say things like 'we allow for acceptable down time which is deemed to be....' and 'We are not liable for any loss of or damage to data, machinery etc...'
In connection SLA's these "acceptable downtimes" are quantified, standard being 99.5% uptime which boils down 44 hours on a year. They are much stricter with peers and you're also talking about way higher quantities there.

I'd seriously think about switching ISPs.
Second time this year, that the core route from uk to fr is down without notice. I think it was 2 hours last time and if they keep it up at this rate, they gonna be paying so many restitution fees to their customers and peers, they'll be bankrupt by the end of the year.

Yes, under certain conditions items duplication (or lose) is possible.
So what? Is not like the server crashes every day.
No, but there are times where it is more likely and for some it pays off, to put a valuable item in a hyperbag and wait for the crash to happen (exploiting a bug IMO).
Secondly, I'd like to know all the risks involved before using something, so that's why I asked.

Wouldn't make sense, since that is a dupe scenario.
<edit>
Not the one above, but this:
make bag
don't save
crash
bag and storage now have same contents.

So some things are missing, such as the ability to autoupdate the client itself
Not sure I'd want that from a security point of view, since the client is the only executable file and is immediately restarted. The update is downloaded from a named host, so via a compromised DNS it would be trivial to exploit.
As it is, I already need to make the el dir group writeable, because files.lst is moved to there (no reason for it, can just stay in tmp/).

Where are my items in the following scenario:
1. Make hyperbag
2. #save (or trade or whatever)
3. Servercrash
Lord of the flies day

You mean Fasting day *and* No manufacturing day?
Not to mention the distinction between fighter and PKer, where no drop day hurts as well.
Gimme my "filled tommy day" and sure, then I'm for balancing peace day with lord of the flies.
Here's some perspective:
So there's 2 days that force fighting, 1 that forces manufacturing. With force, I do mean, you do not have the option at all. No drops day, doesn't affect PKers anymore then rostos do.
