New Map Editor!

Ctrl+B ERROR

 

IF you press Ctrl+B to bring up the £D view in the New mapmaker .exe and you click on a catagory, then press \/ button on the side and keep going. The map maker program exits. So i would recommend saving your map every time before using Ctrl+B.

That's what the last few posts were about. :(

hey ^^

could somebody competent explain for what stand each number in .part & .part.bak files ???

I managed to make a small flame for mm swamps just by tweaking them blindly but having the needed info we could actually try and make desired effects :ph34r:

oh and BTW, save kicks out of editor instead of saving the particle set :huh:

edit: ok i think im getting the hang of this.... except that it crashes instead of saving =P

gnome: unless you have up to date client (i.e. the last official release like me) it will not be seen (but You can see it in map editor :( )

 

Sadez looked into the 'save problem' but he was in a hurry going to the party and so prompt fix didn't work. :( Maybe tommorow.

When he sends the new mapedit.exe I'll upload it at the latest on monday.

By this time You can always just put all the numbers in right order in txt file and name it filename.part -> it works this way too B)

Thank Umrion , the particle system is his work ;)

Fixed the saving problem and sent a new mapeditor to Quell so he can update his page.

The .zip doesn't have the buttons.bmp file with the particles map editor icon. :X

Ok couple of things:

1. the mapedit.zip that was uploaded before, could save the .part file but the files wasn't load-able. Now Sadez fixed it and from now on (look at the post time) the working editor is uploaded : http://www.geocities.com/quelschanak

 

2. for TirasHazor = added the buttons.bmp file from my textures folder but it wasn't with mapeditor I got - You should've them already :P

 

3.now the particles folder is in a separate .zip file, if You come up with some nice particle setting send .part file or write it (since its just a string of numbers) and I'll add it to this .zip file

EDIT!

I just uploaded new mapeditor by Sadez. He fixed the paticle placing -> You can now place them below ground level !

Can anyone tell me how can i rotate items change the angel?

I tryed the Ctrl+W and all whats the i only could change-How far i was,And rotate screen....?

Its really hard to make a map without changeing the angels.... <_<

I have some questions....

1)Does the first map 16x16 haftu be tottaly full?

2)Does it need a story?

3)How can i change the items angel?

4)How can i blend or watever the... Example:Dark Brown next to sand

Do i haftu do the inside too?

MoonShadow - Do i haftu fill out the hole map?

I did a forest few rivers orc houses , volcano,city(village)

Ship yard,Battelfield,And tons of rocks :blink:

There is no story needed since it is just a testmap so that we can see that you understand how to use the mapeditor.

If you pass then you will get to make a 'real' map.

Also you don't need insides for the testmap - later on you will have to make them for your building though.
