Guest Tel Report post Posted November 29, 2011 I have downloaded and installed Eternal Lands. When i open it and select english language, then i scroll down and accept rules. I then get to the login screen, and as i am new user i type in what i want my username and password to be. And every time that i click "New User" it comes up saying "Eternal Lands has stopped working", then wants me to close the program. I am using Windows Vista and dont know what to do, i just want to get on and play the game Can someone help?
Raz Report post Posted November 29, 2011 I would suggest downloading updated graphics drivers - try and get from the manufacturer of the graphics card - rather than the PC supplier.
Guest Tel Report post Posted November 29, 2011 I have been into my device manager, and selected my graphics card, and clicked update driver. But my graphics driver is up to date
hussam Report post Posted November 29, 2011 (edited) Yes, you are trying to get updates from Microsoft. Microsoft cannot ship opengl drivers which EL needs. you need to find what graphics card you have from device managers, go to the manufacturer's website, download a driver and manually install it. It would help if you tell us what graphics card you have. Edited November 29, 2011 by hussam
Maxine Report post Posted November 29, 2011 Small sidenote: If you want to create a new user, do not type the username and password you want in the login screen, but instead, select "New Character". You will get a screen with a new character that you can customize the looks of, select the race (dwarf, human or elf), give a name and password. This is of course after you have updated the graphics drivers. To find out what graphics card you have: - Go to the START menu. - in the search program box type DXDIAG This will start a program with a lot of diagnostics for your computer. The second tab/page shows the graphics card information. Copy the info about the make and model as well as the version number (and date) of your driver in a post here. That info will help us figure out if the driver is up to date, and if not, where to find the proper driver for your graphics card. Good luck.
Devnul Report post Posted November 30, 2011 I am not Vista user, however from my experience with running EL on Windows 7 systems I also advise to: 1. Set EL to run in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode. 2. Set EL to run always as administrator. Plus all tips mentioned above. Good luck!
