EL 1.8.0 BETA on Debian Lenny Crash

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I got on a new Nettop PC (Intel Atom Processor) the following problem:

el.x86.linux.bin is starting, I accept license, login screen with username and password appears, after that, el client crashes:

el.x86.linux.bin: intel_tex_image.c:353: intelTexImage: Assertion `texImage->RowStride == postConvWidth' failed.

Interesting thing is that, for example, compiz or glxgears is working.

If you want to run only Lenny/stable packages, then i'm not necessarily suggesting this as a permanent solution, but at least for testing purposes you could try running the Intel driver and MESA OpenGL API from Debian Sid:

http://packages.debian.org/sid/xserver-xorg-video-intel

http://packages.debian.org/sid/libgl1-mesa-dri

http://packages.debian.org/sid/libgl1-mesa-glx

I'm not sure what (if any) degree of dependency on other Sid packages issues you will encounter.

Also, if you're not using/haven't tried them, bluap provides Lenny deb packages of the EL client:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EternalLa...nny)%20packages

...probably best to try them, if you haven't already, before messing with Sid drivers/mesa.

EDIT:

Also just saw this:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/358403

...which linked to this:

http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21227

...which pretty well confirms it's a Mesa bug.
